Well damn. That’s why he’s leaving Batman earlier than expected. Good fukking choice. Love his Batman run

Nah. Glad he’s on the movie. His Mister Miracle was the shyt. But he was going to drastically change the status quo of Batman. Batman keeps the lights on, and DC could not allow some divisive shyt with their cash cow.

Homie someone would change it back lol. That’s how comics work. Dan slott changed Spider-Man’s status quo several times in 10 years. Made the man a damn tech billionaire and the head of his own company. Killed him and had Ock take over. Then he put the toys back in the box so the next person can do what they want.

Whatever King wanted to do with Batman, someone else would’ve undone if they didn’t like it or didn’t need it to tell their story. That’s comics

I've been through enough shake up's to know that you're totally right. How many times has someone else been in the bat suit? The thing is, is what King plans on doing something that can't simply be cleaned up by the next writer because it's part of the new status quo of that character? That's like making Tony Stark an alcoholic. Yeah you can make him get his act together, but that's always going to be something that is part of that character. Just like Arsenal being a junkie. That's the type of divisive change I'm talking about.

I hear you but to me it’s on the writer to work around that. You incorporate it and find a way to make it work. What was he planning that couldn’t be undone?

No one knows yet. But his last issues is 85. He had 15 issues to go before 100. They chose to screw up the whole entire momentum of the book to put in a stop gap writer. Letting King finish his story in a separate Batman and Catwoman mini series, where it can basically be ignored as non canon like Batman: Son of the Demon. I'm guessing it's some fukkery, like Heroes in Crisis, that higher ups would rather not deal with.

Well my theory, and of course we could both be wrong, is he left the book sooner than he planned so he could write this movie.

Ava DuVernay Confirms Darkseid and the Furies for DC's New Gods

While Marvel is getting some big attention for its upcoming movie The Eternals, DC is quietly working on its own cinematic story about a race of god-like beings of the cosmos with Ava DuVernay's New Gods. Both properties were spawned by comic book legend Jack Kirby - but in the case of New Gods, the story also introduces some of the biggest and well-known figures in the entire DC Universe.

Well, thanks to a Q&A between DC fans and Ava DuVernay herself, we can now confirm that two major names from the New Gods mythos will be in the film: Darkseid and The Furies!
