I'm actually more interested in the Bret Survivor Series match, would love to know how they structured that match. The tag match on RAW were Triple H tore his quad would be another very interesting call.

Knowledge. I think this is a great idea in fact both competitors in classic matches should provide commentary over the match.

should have looked at this thread before going to his podcast, I actually took the time out to sync the match online with his podcast :snoop:

anyway, really enjoyed listening to him talk about this match.

That was a great listen, all the times I've watched the match and I never noticed the Earl blade hand offs or the rope breaks. :leon: Austin wiping the blood off his hand because he's a germaphobe :dead:

Part Two of the recent Q & A was good.

I enjoyed the first caller, Danny, question the most. He asked about the Brian Pillman/Austin gun Raw segment. That segued into them talking about the Monday Night War. Austin said what most of us have at one point in time- he wished that WCW had not been put out of business. WWE would have a better product if there was some kind of competition et cetera.

In regards to the current product
: 'You don't have to make it an Attitude Era reboot. If you just do, what you do, wrestling, with conviction, than the people still want to buy in. We know what the business is, but if you present it how we did back then, you could still have that same flavor, same appetite in today's product if you wanted. Without going to language extremes, without going to risque outfits anything...its all in how you present the business.'

He feels that there being a lack of African American's in general on the roster, could possibly be why there hasn't been more black Heavyweight Champions. Feels that if Kofi were given a push, that he would definitely be an I.C. guy- said that he was too small. The caller said that, Punk and Bryan are small and that Kofi is more of an athlete. Austin agreed that while Kofi may be more of an athlete, he is not the better worker.

I can definitely see his point in regards to Kofi. I enjoy watching him, but he puts me in the mind of John Morrison, who I also liked. They are definitely gifted, but their abilities became more of a hindrance than a help. I mean, with Kofi it's as if he's just out there, namely during the RR, to be on the highlight reel.

Kofi wasn't better than Shelton at any point..of course he could never be in Bryan's league. Kofi doesn't even know how to strike, man. He's a TRUE spot worker and more importantly than that, he's content to be what he is. Just let that goof be the jobber he wants to be..I'm more concerned with why a guy who people put over backstage like Cesaro is not winning 80% of his matches.

So, I had stopped watching by the time Shelton Benjamin was in the picture - how did he get endeavored? He was so damn powerful.

(That Sisqo hair hurt my feelings, though.)

COKEBOY'S PHILOSOPHY IS THAT EVERYBODY SHOULD WANT TO BE THE WWE CHAMPION AND SHELTON WAS SATISFIED WITH PUTTING ON GREAT MATCHES IN THE MIDCARD, SUPPOSEDLY, BROTHER!

THERE'S PROBABLY ALSO A :mjpls: ELEMENT TO THE STORY THOUGH, DUDE!

This week's unleashed show was pretty good. Austin talked about his Wendy's commercial and how unflattering the gray shirt was to his midsection. Said that Vince would tell him that he preferred seeing him in dark blue, due to the color making his eyes standout.:heh:

Yes. Vince is also willing to impart styling advice.

HAwqEc0.gif

He said that the damage that him and :king: Booker T (who I hope he interviews one day) did during their supermarket brawl, was about ten thousand dollars worth.

Was told by Vince that he had the 'best guts in the business', therefore had he called the audible during WM17 and remained a face, there would not have been any repercussions because Vince trusted his intuition.

-----

I also listened to Morrison's interview on 'Talk Is Jericho'- thanks to @AJW .

I liked it. John talked about his various ventures since he left. How he is doing the Hollywood shuffle and embarking on writing and producing- something that he was familiar with prior to becoming a wrestler.

He said that he had been offered a 5 year contract before he chose to leave and pursue some of his other dreams. It was good to know that he is in a very good space and enjoying life outside the ring.

It's a possibility that he may eventually return. I don't see it, at least not for a couple of more years however.

the big problem I have with guys like Morrison and Kofi is that, while they are athletic as hell, their offense is and looks way to weak too be believable. they weren't great workers in that aspect. Beniot, Bret, Daniel Bryan all small guys whose offense looks legit.

I believe that is the biggest criticism that many had/have with Morrison and Kofi. John actually acknowledged that the stuff he liked to do was more 'pretty and aerial.' He said, how up until he faced off against Sheamus, he wasn't big on striking anyone too hard. Said that night after night of someone hitting you hard, you will eventually retaliate and do the same to them. After his feud with him however, he decided that perhaps that wasn't the right way to go about hitting opponents who may not be prepared for it.

Good (clean) episode this week. He took more questions from the listeners.

Talked about how great of a heel Vickie was and how her becoming the most over heel wasn't just based on her saying 'Excuse Me.'

There was more mentioning of the current system and how when he does go down to Florida, he hopes that there is the feel of it being a wrestling facility, much like when he did recent work for the NFL and it breathed that environment from jump.

Austin talked about working with Kane, most notably their King of the Ring 'First Blood' match.

Even though the match and the aftermath (Kane winning his first WHC title, Austin eventually winning it back the next night...) was important, King of the Ring '98' will always be known for The Undertaker versus Mankind 'Hell In A Cell' match.

As Austin said, that was their night.
