Rock is in my top 5, but he was never really a TRUE heel ..
Nation Rock and Hollywood Rock were true heels.![]()
Injuries also cost Austin GOAT status as well. The Rock and Hogan both were top faces and heels. Austin was one of the best faces a good heel but never on the level of The Rock and Hogan. When Hogan got stale in WCW he turned heel at the perfect time and it rejuvenated his character. The Rock could switch from a heel to a face in an instant and it would be great. When Austin got stale they turned him heel and instead of getting better he got worse that's his own words. From 2001 on the Austin character was nothing like the 97-99 one. The run from 97-99 was one of the best ever but u can not be the goat based on a 3 year period u need longevity.
