The stoop with dat dope fanny padding
Austin did lose momentum and it affected his career standings in terms of whether he would be looked at as the greatest of all time

at his peak though, he was bigger than any wrestler ever...

i think his performance towards the end of his career and coming out and doing the drinking, the what, the oh hell yeah over and over and over for what seemed like 5 years hurt him in a long term persective as well...

his character was perfect, the ultimate bad ass, and they did kind of neuter him after the heel turn and then turning into a more comedy figure... it ruined him imo.

he was on pace to be the GOAT

Austin HIMSELF said he if he could he wouldn't have done the heel run again, it didn't work. Also it made no sense why did Austin join Vince after 5 years of hating him? Why did Vince help Austin win the title after doing everything in his power to keep the belt from him? They never explained this. They made the bad-ass Austin character so soft it was a complete 180 and his face character was never the same after this. Him joining the Alliance was even dumber.

Hulk Hogan (Hulkamania) arguably GOAT face
Hollywood Hogan arguably GOAT heel

The Rock arguably GOAT face
Heel Rock arguably GOAT heel

Austin 3:16 arguably GOAT face
Austin heel not great

Austin didn't like the loss of that merch money. It wasn't no creative shyt.

I think the Austin/Angle thing is overrated. His heel run got shaky right there. The Two Man Power Trip is how Austin was supposed to be as a heel. Just a ruthless ass kicker. I guess they made him a coward after seeing how much the TMPT was getting cheered.
