Austin Reaves over his last ten games: 27/5/6 on 53/38/96 shooting, why isn’t he the front runner for M.I.P of the year?

It should go to Cade. He took it to next level this season and is leading his team to a top 5 spot in eastern conference. Sounds to me like a perfect nomination for the award.

None of this screams Most Improved Player at all

If anything, it means JB Bickerstaff should be Coach of the Year, and Cade should be getting MVP votes
There is nothing that screams most improved to ppl unless it’s an increase in ppg ,assists or some other easy to see stat .All awards are narrative based at this point. Cade went from not being top 50 to Elite during the season .That’s a major change in perception.. whether it’s truly means most improved is very debatable but that’s why he’s the front runner

As a pistons fan I don’t think Cade is the most improved player on this team.Thats Duren . But unless ppl watched the pistons the past three years it’s not easy to see because it’s not a pure stats things.

Is Beasley most improved or is it opportunity and feeling comfortable in a city his mom is from, a city he spent a large part of his youth in and is now playing in a system that empowered him ?

JJJ went from 3rd option to the man in Memphis bc Ja hasn’t been Ja.. should he not get consideration because he was a high pick ?

Justin Champagnie or whatever went from G Leaguer to an nba rotation player .. Is he most improved or is it opportunity?

There isn’t a clean cut answer to any of this .. so which is why it’s swung to a narrative award .

The real discussion should be why isn't Malik Beasley the 6MOY.

Out of all the awards, that's the narrative that is going to end up being overlooked.

Dyson is now -190; Cade drifted to +160.

It's crazy seeing how much some online opposition can actually swing this in a short space of time.

SO basically getting rid of D'Angelo Russell and AD unlocked Reeves complete skill set? Trading Russell had to happen, but did AD slow/bog down the offensive rhythm that much? :dahell:

Nah he ramped up after Dlo left

He was becoming that guy when AD was on the team.

He actually had to recalibrate when Luka came to the team because he was the primary ballhandler and Luka took the ball out of hands yet he still figured a way the ball out

Dyson and Zubac got the majority of the votes; Cade's narrative fell off a cliff to end the season (those missed games didn't help). He went from frontrunner to a distant third.
