Good for him if he asked for it. It's better to leave when you know shyt isn't gonna work out and you're unhappy than squander away your best years somewhere just bcus you 'hope' it'll get better or that someone will notice your worth.

I hope more superstars do this with the WWE and actually prosper elsewhere. Instead of waiting for other options, you create the other options. Other wrestlers will follow suit.

Problem is too many fans are stuck in that "the E is all that matters" mindset. When Cody left folks were quick to say it was a mistake, now he's ROH champion and part of the hottest stable in wrestling in one of the best promotions in the world and folks are still complaining because if you leave the E you're supposed to put on 5* spot fests all the time or you were never shyt.

Austin Aries vs Jeff Hardy was the biggest drawing match TNA ever had. Aries clearly had the potential to do much more. In the cruiserweight division now, theres Neville vs his opponent, Dar vs Cedric part 1816171917, and then everyone else just wrestles very safe & soundly. They need to recalibrate what the division is going to be.

Lol no it wasn't. The Joe/Angle shoot style cage match is by far the biggest drawing match TNA had.

Looks like @Silkk was right

According to PWTorch.com, Aries requested his release from the company, and it was granted, as he was unhappy being pigeonholed as a Cruiserweight, and saw much more potential for himself outside of the role he was given on 205 Live.

The report added that one source noted Aries had a bad attitude backstage in WWE, which might have made the decision easier for WWE officials to grant him his release. It’s likely Aries will end up back on the indie scene following his release, and he could also end up back in Ring of Honor or GFW if he is offered a return deal from either of those companies.
More proof that the brass ring speech is BS.

Dont reach for it til they tell you to smh

Swear WWE shoots themselves in the foot every single fukking time.

I disagree. Dude debuted in ring in March. Made it to the preshow on the WM card in April:mindblown: Was on the Packback ppv and Extreme Rules ppv. Then quits in July.:wtf:

Dude is 40 and 5'9. His fiancé just got signed. :dahell: Dude got paid off ppv, 205live, tv, and houseshows.

Aries really didn't have anything else to do since he saw the ceiling over himself already. His bad attitude backstage is a culture the WWE created themselves. Can't blame him asking for his release:manny:he should have been on their radar at 33 and entering his prime instead of 39 and on the downside
