Sterling is, in one way, correct when he says White ppl don't see/think about color. No, not that they don't see other races, 
but because they are the only color many of them interact with(see). When you're the overwhelming majority race and every restaurant, job, event, TV shows you watch are 99% white, you don't think about any other races b/c they're not prevalent nor relevant to you. When 98/100 ppl on your job are white and there's one black and one mexican, you're not threatened in any capacity, everyone looks like you...and ultimately(unfortunately) they will consider the 2 as required hires, so then there's even less threat.
On the flip side, being the minority it's ALWAYS an issue. If you're one of the 2 non-whites out of the 100, it's ALWAYS on your mind.
