I don't know brehs. If the owner voting is public to strip Sterling, I can see Sterling get booted from the L indefinitely. Too much public backlash for the owner who votes "no". But if the voting is private, some of these owners will probably vote "no" knowing that they too have skeletons in their closet that someone can dig up and use against them. I'm looking forward to how this process is going to take place.
Yup, they're probably shook at what Sterling could say about them as well... imagine if he comes out throwing multiple owners under the bus after he finds out who voted him out.

He will fight. The last time the NBA tried to fine him, he counter-sued:

In 1984, after three disastrous seasons in San Diego, Donald moved the Clippers to Los Angeles without even asking for the NBA's permission. For this transgression, the NBA tried to fine Don $25 million. He countersued the league for $100 million in damages. The NBA quickly reduced the fine to $6 million, Donald paid his parking ticket and was free to set up shop in LA.

This is the scenario I'd love to see, either that or the rest of the tapes being released.

I need the tapes:damn:

That whole article is :whew:

The guy is a shrewd individual. Even if he is forced to sell the team, he'll be making 5500% return from his original purchase price.
I'm listening to local radio out here in Chicago, and they were saying, what if they force him to sell the team and he sets the price at 3 billi or some ridiculous shyt

It's crazy man. The people who defend Sterling have this warped sense of logic that seriously leaves me like :mindblown:

They keep harping on the fact that "Sterling was talking privately in his own home" and " in America there is free speech" they keep holdin on to that bullshyt as if it holds some type of weight. :snoop:

I was on this comment section and I asked this: To the men, if someone gave you audio of your wife on the phone with the next door neighbor and they were discussing the details of an ongoing sexual relationship that they were having. Would you disregard the information you heard because "it was a private conversation" Would you not divorce her? These muthafukaz had nothin to say :pachaha:

The people who make the argument of "he was talking privately in his own home" are projecting because they know they do the same thing and see how this guy is being treated after being exposed. They're scared that if they get caught slipping and recorded saying their views, views that are similar to Sterling's, they'd have to face consequences...and you know most white people don't like facing consequences for being racist.

That's all it is. They see someone getting crucified in public for doing the same shyt that they do and they're twisting logic to try and defend those actions.

I think there's something to be said we've become more reactive to soundbytes than active racism. Sterling's actions as a landlord should have ousted him from the league years ago. Instead this broad becomes part of the story.

It's concerning that other owners never stepped up years back to voice their displeasure with Sterlings views.

Breh, it's just not about saying off color comments based on someone's racial make up though. There are a slew of sensitive topics that can get someone in trouble if they say the non PC thing like same sex marriage, sexual orientation, religious beliefs, etc. Someone should be able to express their beliefs privately without fear of getting publicly flogged. I'm sure you've said something non PC before. I'm sure everyone has.

I'm glad that this guy got exposed, but it should have been done based on past comments he's made that were public due to lawsuits.

This is the world we live in today, there's been plenty of precedent set with inflammatory remarks getting people removed from their positions of power. It's not against the law to say anything inflammatory, and it's not against the law for a business to remove you for making such statements. You can express your beliefs privately all you want, but if they become public they become public and it's free game on them.

If I was in a position of power and got caught on tape slipping saying something non PC in private, I have to accept the responsibility of the things that I said. Look at the Romney 47% comment in the 2012 election. He expressed his beliefs to what he thought was a private audience, but once it's out there it's out there. Nothing is stopping you from saying what you want, and nothing is stopping people from exposing what you said. It's a two way street, freedom of speech for both parties technically speaking.

If you're afraid of getting caught slipping being politically incorrect, don't say it to people who you don't fully trust. This doesn't even affect normal people. If you or me said some shyt that was politically incorrect and some groupie hoe recorded it and put it in public, no one would care, but when you're in the public eye you're held to a higher standard. That's the way the world works my dude, and it's been like that for as long as I can remember.
