Honestly, Doc Rivers was supposed to be the OG in this matter.

The man is universally praised by everyone around the league and media for being a respected, sophisticated voice in the modern NBA. With his clout and the goodwill he's built for himself, he could have easily played the part of OG.

I've seen soccer managers pull their teams off the pitch due to 'cism from the fans, John Thompson did the same back in the day to protect Ewing from 'cism in the crowd. Doc could have said, 'we're not playing'....and every single one of his players would have followed his lead. By doing this, Doc would also protect his players by putting the burden of responsibility on himself...a man who has little to lose as he's halfway to retirement anyways.

I've read a lot about the way racism against Blacks has been carried out in Latin America(particularly Brasil and Venuezuela), and how that made it so hard for Blacks over there to really mobilize as a collective. One White Brasilian Sociologist, calls it the "cynical and veil' racism.
