Reality
Make your own luck.
this is conjecture, simple and plain... the NBA is an institution that has protocol in place to deal with this situation and have made public that, that is exactly what they are doing right now...
There is no way Donald Sterling will own the Los Angeles Clippers at the start of next season, that's the reality of the situation if you take a step back and look at it, but you'd rather see a symbolic grandstand by players so they can solve this Donald Sterling created catastrophe.
My problem with people saying "The players should be the ones who boycott the game, and set sterling right!!" is that it is a direct parallel to people saying "Black people should be the ones who solve racism!!"
It just doesn't make sense to me.
I appreciate your points, and I get this is a message board, but there's really no need to debase what your saying with insults and statements on my character, you don't know me breh... and that shyt is corny and it breaks down the channels for us to even have a real conversation here with different view points.
You're making a very different case here than you were in the original post. I can appreciate this view much more than the one you were originally putting forward. And no, I don't believe black people should be the ones who "solve" racism...but we shouldn't be passive. I hate to bring up the Jews as a reference, and I know they're not a monolithic group of people, but their zero tolerance stance towards anti-semitism has been wildly successful. Why shouldn't a similar approach be taken by us?
And I apologize for attacking your character, but I'm passionate about this because I see younger folks (and I'm 26 ) discounting the struggle...thinking it's all sweet...not seeing the connection between their opportunities for success and others'.
