He didn't march for gay rights. And I could care less about some gay ass pastors.fukkem.

I don't understand why you're so mad. King fought for equal rights. Rustin was one of his closest allies, it's not hard to surmise that King supported basic gay rights. Coretta has spoken about this as well.

At the end of the day civil rights are civil rights. Gay people are being treated unfairly, and are being discriminated against across the country. That's wrong. Whether you want to directly compare it to the 60s movement or not, I hope at least you can admit gay people are fighting for basic rights we have right now - from employment discrimination to getting the right to visit their partner in the hospital. Those are basic things all people should agree on.

rustin was about doin what was right.. dikk suckin wasnt even on that nikkas mind.
Exactly. So stop associating this gay shyt with the Black civil rights movement.

He worked hard, as a black man, and kept his gayness outside of it all. Why the fukk do you keep trying to equivocate such when even he didn't?

yes, it very much is.

don't see why you're hung up on a gay person simply being able to be who they are without guys like you acting all upset and worried like :whew:. grow up.

AGAIN,

I don't care about them having rights

But what I won't do is let the struggle of a whole collective be grouped with the struggle of a gay man when they are two completely different things.

Gay does not = Black, Asian, Indian, etc.

You can hide being gay, there's no generational problem in your family because of you being gay, there's no struggle in the educational/financial system because you are gay, everyone in your family doesn't suffer from oppression in society because you are gay. Black and gay are not the same.

Civil and political rights are a class of rights based upon birthright into a polity or designation otherwise of human rights. They ensure a citizen's ability to fully participate in the civil and political life of the state without discrimination or political repression, and protect the freedom of classes of persons and individuals from unwarranted infringement into those rights by governments, private organizations, and other entities.
Civil rights include the ensuring of peoples' physical and mental integrity, life and safety; protection from discrimination on grounds such as physical or mental disability, gender, religion, race, national origin, age, status as a member of the uniformed services, sexual orientation, or gender identity;[1][2][3] and individual rights such as privacy, the freedoms of thought and conscience, speech and expression, religion, the press, and movement.

Civil rights are for everyone, but don't equivocate it with the BLACK civil rights movement unless you wanna be known as a c00n, CAC, or a faq.

It's disgraceful that you all are trying to equate the plight of people who were stolen from their land and mistreated for over +500 years and who will still struggle with such long after gays get their civil rights, to a simple sexual attraction. FOH.

This was a speech given August 15 1970 by Huey Newton co-founder of the Black Panther Party

We must gain security in ourselves and therefore have respect and
feelings for all oppressed people. We must not use the racist attitude
that the White racists use against our people because they are Black
and poor. Many times the poorest White person is the most racist
because he is afraid that he might lose something, or discover
something that he does not have. So you’re some kind of a threat to
him. This kind of psychology is in operation when we view oppressed
people and we are angry with them because of their particular kind of
behavior, or their particular kind of deviation from the established
norm.

We have not said much
about the homosexual at all, but we must relate to the homosexual
movement because it is a real thing. And I know through reading, and
through my life experience and observations that homosexuals are not
given freedom and liberty by anyone in the society. They might be the
most oppresed people in the society.

And what made them homosexual? Perhaps it’s a phenomenon that I don’t
understand entirely. Some people say that it is the decadence of
capitalism. I don’t know if that is the case; I rather doubt it. But
whatever the case is, we know that homosexuality is a fact that
exists, and we must understand it in its purest form: that is, a
person should have the freedom to use his body in whatever way he
wants.
Looking Back at Huey Newton’s Thoughts on Gay Rights…In the Wake of Obama’s Endorsement « Davey D's Hip Hop Corner

I tried to take out important bits but basically no one is equating gay to black, just the prejudice both groups have faced. I dont see how thats so difficult to understand. How the fukk Black ppl look fighting for equality 300+ years only to turn around and cac it out once we get a bit of power?

to the right of mlk..is the biggest gay in that era n is the brains of kings lil movement

bayard rustin wasnt a coward like hoover did his freaky shyt behind close doors..

bayard was openly gay n hoover..n the rest of the feds knew..he was on their radar be4 king even got started

and iono if u know this..but behind every successful pastor reverend bishop etc

a gay section is behind em

Associating with gays and advocating for gay rights are two totally different things. King also associated with communists in SCLC. Unless you're a racist CAC from the 50s, do you think this meant that King supported communism?

It pisses me off when fakkits equate something as trivial as sexual attraction that can easily be hidden with a condition you can't hide (in principle, with the exception of blacks who passed) and is extremely non-trivial. I think it's extremely belittling of the Civil Rights era of the 60s and all who died in the struggle.

A couple of people are not the end all be all of the black civil rights movement. I know that Huey supported gay rights, but that doesn't mean it was equated to black people's struggle as a whole.

I'm not gonna keep arguing what y'all don't seem to understand. Keep comparing slavery, institutionalized racism, riots, etc. based on race (something you are 100% born with and can't hide) to simple sexual attraction that can be hidden and that a lot of people turn on and off when they want.

Even when all gay people get the right to be married (which I am not against), black people STILL won't be treated as equals and those same gay white/Asian/etc. people who are using our struggle to come up will not give a fukk, just as they don't now. Black people understood that back then, which is why they largely kept it out of our social struggle. Why is that so hard for y'all to comprehend?

At least I see why ya nikkas be hating on women so much on this board! Ya'll just some plain fakkits! Simple as that! nikkas comparing a choice of taking dikk of the booty as the same as being born black.

You can't make this shyt up!
