Thinking of switching from Charter, theyre charging me $120 for TV (movie channels for free) and 3Mbps internet..SCUST
Only provider I'd switch to would be ATT Uverse due to no contract requirement..their package is about 80-90 ..anyone have Uverse, thoughts?
I had U-Verse for a while when I lived in Chicago. I don't know if it's the same everywhere, but it was the worst internet service I've ever had. The connection itself was ok- not the fastest, but functional. It didn't go out much. The real problem was the customer service and all the hidden fees.
It took 4 different appointments to install the connection properly because their people were so incompetent (some other people in the neighborhood said their own connections took even more tries) and all the appointments were far apart, so basically it took my almost 2 months to get internet in the apt. Then they tried to charge me for all 4 appointments, which of course I refused (it's not cheap, either, over $100 an appointment.) Then they sent me the U-Verse installation equipment twice and tried to charge me twice for it, which again, of course, I fought. Finally, when it came time to cancel my contract, they brought out all these hidden fees out of nowhere, despite the initial contract saying I could bow out without any fees (they tried to charge me an extra $200 or so,) and also tried to charge me 2 months more than I actually used them. Other people I know had similarly bad experiences with them. The problem was that at the time, they were the only internet provider in the area so we all had to use them.
