I honestly think it’s about over for hip hop unless it evolves into something more mature and palatable.

Kendrick, Drake and Cole are all pushing 40, there’s only so much runway left for them. One of them is gonna be 3 stacks flute status eventually.

feel like the female thot-rap wave was gonna carry them but these albums ain’t really selling either. They been trying their hardest for years now to market Megan Tha Stallion and it just ain’t happening on that level.

i don’t even know if there is another wave following that. There’s only a handful of artist left that can sell out an arena and they need other famous openers and guest acts to do it

Agreed. Hip Hop was on the brink in 06-07, but the big hitters (Kanye, Jay) saved the day and other big names (Ross, Jeezy, Cudi, Drake) infused new life starting in '08. I don't see that happening again.
