It's hate, man. Simple as that. Kendrick has been a multiplatinum selling artist since 2012, has the 3rd most Grammy's behind Kanye and Jay Z for a rapper, and he has a damn (no pun intended) Pulitzer award.

It's simply hate. Nothing more, nothing less.
@spliz knows better too smh :smh:

NY all day..Da Stead & BK..
The way you nikkas act like Kendrick wasn’t a top rap act. Yall some real weirdos
Same thing with Lil Baby. That’s the point being made. Lil Baby was scorching hot up until like 2023. Mad multi platinum records n all that. nikkas stopped checking for him like that even tho he was still doing his lil numbers. After Mr Morale Kendrick’s name wasn’t buzzing all crazy. Anyone being honest knows this. I’m in no way shape or form trying to call Kendrick a nobody. But son was basically out the limelight. 2024 was prolly the most buzz Kendrick has had since GKMC. Again. Im NOT saying he didn’t have buzz after GKMC just so u nikkas don’t twist my words.

DAMN was and still is his best selling record.

From 2015-2018 Kendrick was everywhere. TPAB in 2015, UU in 2016, Damn in 2017, and the Black Panther album in 2018. All albums that went platinum multiple times over. Goosebumps which is Travis Scotts best performing single currently (I think SICKO MODE might overtake it) was released late 2016 with a video in 2017 that coincides with Kendricks huge run during that time period.

That period from 2019-2022 when Kendrick was quiet that coincides with Covid really fukked with peoples time perception. shyt, he was actually back with Keem in 2021 for Family Ties which is a smash hit.

That whole spiel wasn't to dispel the bolded in the quote, but to show Kendrick has gotten nothing but bigger (:dame:) over time.

Regarding Lil Baby, I was never the biggest fan of his so I'm not the best person to comment on him. But many fans were extremely disappointed in him after he dropped It's Only Me and it's only gotten worse after that for people. He's having a similar if not the same issue people like Roddy Rich and Fetty Wap had after dropping their debut albums. They couldn't live up to the hype. Baby is just lucky because he still has Atlanta to fall back on.

Kendrick never had as much buzz within the streets along with mainstream as GKMC. DAMN prolly sold more but nothing beats how GKMC had the media and the streets. This year has been the first time since then that the buzz on both ends been equal. TPAB did weak in comparison to GKMC and he got his commercial footing back with DAMN. Mr Morale had very mixed reception on all fronts. My point is this. Lil Baby was scorching up until about 2023. Then he got cold. Kendrick was pretty cold after Mr Morale as well.

Mike Will Made It sought out Kendrick? And Kendrick didn't ask Future for a feature on Black Panther soundtrack. And Like That would've been a hit record regardless. Even without Kendrick. It went viral because Kendrick was dissing Drake and Cole on it. Not just cause Kendrick dropped a verse on it. If Kendrick dropped a regular verse on it It would've still been a hit but it wouldn't have been what it ended up being..
Negro, please. A hit? Might. Number 1 is mostly because of Kendrick. How your boys been looking since Like That?

How do you measure the streets. You can't quantify that. You don't sell as much as DAMN did without having that buzz everywhere. TPAB sold more than GKMC during it's first week. Now GKMC probably sold more over it's lifetime due to it coming out 3 years before TPAB and having more commercially sounding songs, but TPAB was still incredibly successful and you could hear it being played everywhere. Mr Morale did have a very mixed reaction, but it still sold incredibly well and won multiple awards. That was also only two years ago. Kendrick wasn't cold, he just doesn't do interviews or features as much as he used to. The album lead to a tour that until recently was the highest grossing tour.

Honestly other than the ones that had issues with Drake a lot of them probably don’t. Even some of the westcoast nikkaz like cube and game. Snoop was looking funny at first but he ran that back. But that’s the thing these nikkaz say that shyt than someone’s from Kendrick’s team will confront it and all of a sudden it’s nah I don’t have no smoke with you.

Lowkey even though Kendrick won the battle he’s kind of going through the same thing as Drake in terms of which peers have been fake the whole time. Which he addressed on Wacced out Muriel’s. Even future was acting salty about Kendrick.

Nah bro. Future is one of the few rappers outside of TDE who has continuously shown love to Kendrick for years. Remember he has done multiple songs with Kendrick too. From "Kings Dead" to "Mask Off Remix". Ironically it seems like each time they do a song together that Kendrick disses Drake subliminally on it lol..

They performed Mask Off Remix together at the BET Awards and wore matching outfits lol. I doubt Future salty about anything with Kendrick it was tongue in cheek

He wasn't, if you read the full interview.

They just posted quotes with no context on Twitter. Future was laughing and obviously joking with the sh*t he was saying. The editor actually had to explain Future was trolling.
