DAMN was and still is his best selling record.
From 2015-2018 Kendrick was everywhere. TPAB in 2015, UU in 2016, Damn in 2017, and the Black Panther album in 2018. All albums that went platinum multiple times over. Goosebumps which is Travis Scotts best performing single currently (I think SICKO MODE might overtake it) was released late 2016 with a video in 2017 that coincides with Kendricks huge run during that time period.
That period from 2019-2022 when Kendrick was quiet that coincides with Covid really fukked with peoples time perception. shyt, he was actually back with Keem in 2021 for Family Ties which is a smash hit.
That whole spiel wasn't to dispel the bolded in the quote, but to show Kendrick has gotten nothing but bigger (
) over time.
Regarding Lil Baby, I was never the biggest fan of his so I'm not the best person to comment on him. But many fans were extremely disappointed in him after he dropped It's Only Me and it's only gotten worse after that for people. He's having a similar if not the same issue people like Roddy Rich and Fetty Wap had after dropping their debut albums. They couldn't live up to the hype. Baby is just lucky because he still has Atlanta to fall back on.
