Remove the guns from this situation, and perhaps she still might be dead, but the "John Wick-style shootout" doesn't occur, and it ends up being your typical crime of passion that exists in spaces all over the world. Just as if you introduce guns in the same manner all over the world, you'll get more examples like this happening.
