What happened yesterday and is still playing out is a chronic issue. It is a failure of leadership at the city AND State level.
The surrounding red counties clog the arteries of a blue city on a daily basis and that’s what happened yesterday. Yet, year in and year out, they continue to vote the same republican idiots who refuse to spend on dime on infrastructure development, because taxes, freedom, liberty, guns and my right to impose my beliefs on the vaginas of grown women. Those of you who say that it’s a city responsibility – fukk you. The amount of infrastructure response needed is at the State level. Atlanta is the heart of the State and it needs State level funding to keep its infrastructure operational. This is a perfect example of social responsibility. What would we have done if this was a national emergency and city evacuations would have been done? What would our level of preparedness be? Apparently the State officials are upset about abandoned vehicles on the road. What the fukk are the drivers supposed to do? Die in the freezing weather. What about diabetic patients or kids stuck for over 15 hours?
I hate to politicize this tragedy, but that is exactly what we need to do to prevent it again. It’s the republican cancer that says spending is bad and my taxes are not meant for the public good, but your taxes need to work me and only me. And the south is infested with them. Until such time there is a rude awakening (this storm is not that awakening, unfortunately), nothing will change. Global warming will remain a myth, and they will still want to regulate your sisters vagina, your mothers vagina and your daughters vagina.
Mark my words, NOTHING WILL CHANGE. Absolutely nothing will change. For this simple reason – our fellow Georgian citizens attitude is along the lines of
My hate for your (religion, color of your skin, ethnicity, language, sexual orientation) is far greater than my well being. I will continue to vote for the divisive people who look like me and who give me a false sense security. I will suffer through this and any other ordeal so I hate another day.
Bring on down votes. Hope the taxes you saved were spent on salt bags for your driveway.
