Why does it seem like every time a thread is made on Atlanta it’s more folks commenting that aren’t from here than actual native Atlantans

Brooklyn keeps on taking it.
Y’all need to get rid of that mindset that suburbs=white

there are numerous suburbs in metro Atlanta with 60-90% black population and they’re just as dangerous or more dangerous than the city of Atlanta.

people don’t move to suburbs in Atlanta to get away from black folks. They move to the suburbs because of cheaper homes, they want to open a business, & it’s a shyt ton of stuff to do.

it literally does equal white. Atlanta and certain southeast cities are outliers.

This is almost similar to the argument blacks people trying to convince people that America has more blacks people than 14%. Meanwhile those block people probably never went west of the Mississippi River except when visiting Cali or Vegas.

New York has them also. So?

Go on google and take a look at a racial map of every metro area in this country and you will get a picture of what I’m talking about.

Detroit one of the blackest cities in the country literally flips to super white once you enter the suburbs.

Most African Americans live in dense environments and inner cities while the average white person is living suburban/rural.

America is mostly white yet almost all the major cities are mostly minority.

look at what you just wrote. You said Atlanta is an outlier..so what’s the argument here bruh? :pachaha:

you can’t apply your thoughts about the suburbs when it comes to Atlanta.

I’m not saying you’re wrong by picking the city over the burbs..that’s your choice. I used to think like that as well, but I need a decent sized crib with a decent size yard near parks and trails. I can’t have that in the city. I may hit up downtown Atlanta 2 or 3 times a month at max.

don’t need the headache of that traffic or small ass cribs selling for less than 4-6 bedroom homes in majority black suburbs.

Atlanta is majority black city while the metro is majority white.

If what you’re saying is true than the metro of Atlanta should be majority black as well since it’s a myth?

There are countless of racial maps all over the internet showing you how white the suburbs are in this country.

And the suburbs that have high black populations throughout the country tend to have high amounts of whites also. It’s very rare to find a black suburbs nationwide where the population of blacks is 90%+

I'm confused, didn't y'all say the black community lives in the suburbs surrounding the city, no one gives a fukk about the city proper and it's been like this at least since the Olympics? Why act shocked now?

A lot of people did own. But when you purchased a house in the 80's for 10-15k and it's now worth 110k, it's hard not to sell to whoever wants to buy.

Yep. From the AUC all the way up Howell Mill to 75 is a prime example of this. The timing matters too, because these pushes come after owners are older and on fixed incomes and can't survive tax base increases...usually because their children have all moved away and have little knowledge of how to to come back and renovate those old communities.

Southeast DC
White folks can have them 1400 sq ft. bungalows with street parking. fukk that. I need space.

A lot of folks jumping at that shyt are from other areas where not having a yard and parking is cool with them because the never had it anyway.

In DC this is alright because you got easy access to an extensive transportation network that can get you to anywhere in the area just by stepping outside your door. In Atlanta though? MARTA ain't getting you far and you still need a ride to get anywhere.

Actually I don’t think there is nothing wrong with moving to the suburbs but understand that if you move to the burbs you shouldn’t be on here crying about gentrification.

it’s just like the retarded white people who moved to the suburbs and complain about blacks ruining their old inner city community they grew up in.

Those cacs could have stayed if they were really invested in the community like they claim.

I know several successful black folks who live in their inner city community and their kids go to private school.

Homeowners who sell for cash shouldn’t be complaining about gentrification. They clearly SUPPORT it if they sold out.

If I’m making good money the asking price of my house wouldn’t mean nothing to me until I retire someplace else. Would never sell period if I already live in a retire friendly place

I have 3 kids, i need space. I had to get a home with a basement so i could decompress. Living with 4 females in a 1300 square foot joint aint easy

Not discounting brehs like you and you got your reasons.

I understand that competely but city real estate was always in the play for white people to reclaim it.

Yeah people got to realize black suburbs outside atl/md/va where they are the majority and thriving are few and far between. I think Desoto/Cedar Hill trying but its not there just yet and I don't know if Dallas politics will allow it too without some type of gentrification.
