is what you're trying to get at the thought that atheists must know God exists, but deny his existence out of anger and hurt?
Easy, because a person's beliefs inform their actions, and those actions have an actual effect on the rest of us. If someone is making decisions based on made up or unfounded presumptions, then it's likely that they'll make the wrong decisions. There are many examples of this from the Salem witch trials, to the persecution of great scientific minds at the hands of the church. Questioning why an atheist would also be anti-theist is like wondering why a sheep hates a wolf.
People have faced persecution for their religious views. Our people suffered for scientific discovery should science be seen as evil.
I can't say I hate all religions, but I don't think a person would be wrong for hating the Abrahamic religions because they are basically human hating institutions.
How many of you can admit that you really just hate religion/god.
I don't think you understand religion. You're a follower just like the evangelicals you criticize so much.
You lost if you Hate something you don't even believe exist.
Who the hell doesn't believe religion exists?
I'm not a follower. Unlike many nonbelievers here, I never had faith in any religion even though I was raised in a religious household. I threw church in the bushes as soon as I was able to think for myself (early adolescence).
So then you're not a follower. You just don't understand religion. You threw it in the bushes before you could even gasp a deep understanding. Not saying you would believe if you studied right now... just saying your hate for it is unwarranted and misguided.
