people need religion to explain their problems and to tell them how to solve them :yeshrug: as far atheist society, it would thrive, reach a higher apex and ultimately self destruct. But what would a completely agnostic society look like? thats a far better question.

this some of the dumbest sht i ever heard. :russ: People been killing other people and use religion to justify it...
Not everyone does it but im not going to act like it hasnt happened

An agnostic society would probably be better than an atheistic society or a very religious society if in America. Its a more humble stance IMO. Just an opinion though.

There are very religious societies around the world that would be deemed "pretty good" though, so its not like its impossible. The difference comes in homogeneity..if there is a very religious society without many competing religions, then it is probably more likely to succeed than if there is a lot of difference. I think many would deem a country like Slovenia as having a good society and it is largely catholic. Many there have a high satisfaction and happiness level, crime is very low and the economy is decent. I think Italy also is a pretty good society, although many are disenchanted from the conversion to the EURO in which they got screwed over and the politicians are terrible..but it is largely roman catholic and I believe (although I havent looked at numbers), that people are generally happy with their society and culture and wouldn't want to emigrate unless there is a really good job offer elsewhere.

Atheist societies are hard to gauge because there are very few that are strong majority atheist.

What is this suppose to be? Do you really put that much faith in polls. Polls aren't even accurate. If they ask 100 people, that doesn't mean they have asked all scientists in the states or around the world.
Should I have more faith in you?
Atheists Society would look like any other atheist society in recent memory. Alot of oppressed people and massive death. Ask the Russians from the Lenin and Stalin Era. Ask the Chinese during Mao.

So in other words you use bullshyt analogies to put your point across in inaccurate data and faith in poll systems. Got-it.

This is my argument that religion was the original form of government. Stupid people always need parameters to their livelihoods.

I still can't understand how people don't see that organized religion is a political organization that claims to speak in the name of someone that no one has ever seen...how convenient :youngsabo:

A lot gayer, probably.
No lie, the ancient Romans were atheists. Yes, they had statues of Roman gods but that was about it. They lived life like there was no repercussions to sin or immoral behavior. They had husbands with side pieces who were male or tranny.
Now, look at American society. Early US history, more devout Christians and less gays and tranny hoes. Modern US history, less devout Christians, more gays and tranny hoes. That's the slope we are going down.

not that different, its mostly semantics. chance vs. random

but it'd force people to think about death more realistically. maybe a friendlier society down the road. but as far as immediate changes, hardly any
