Most stuff isn't and Democrats start moving right inch by inch every time they lose, it seems. If Carter won in 1980 we would have such a wage disparity between the worker and the CEO and wages for the worker would've continued to grow. The crack epidemic probably doesn't happen and the rise of the Christian nationalist in politics probably doesn't happen either. Losing in a blowout and then the next two elects made the Dems lean into neoliberalism which has us in the position that we are in nowWith the exception of the judicial nominees, most of it is temporary and can be undone in 4 years. This is why Americans are complacent.
There is a desire to get away from the same sensationalism we've used since Carter's election that says "this is the most impactful election in history, your life is over if your guy loses", no matter if its trump or clinton or Bush or obama running. But somehow we all keep living after the result.
So Leaving America is a lot of work, and its not quite worth it to go into exile.
