Man, just stop this dumb shyt.

Nobody is "eons" better than a first ballot Hall of Famer. Michael Jordan isn't EONS better than Allen Iverson.

I agree with the Isiah better than Iverson statement though; but Isiah >>> Durant as well, so that doesn't help in this argument.

Are you fukking serious right now? Don't ever talk to me about basketball ever again.

that squad had great perimeter defenders and nothing but outside shooters, if dwight got double teamed you had to worry about turkoglu, lee, pietrus, nelson, redikk, alston, ect from the perimeter, dwight was pretty much unstoppable and when turkoglu ran the point :whew:

ai had aaron mckie jumaine jones and mutumbo as his second options :mjpls:

honestly the 01-04 nets were better then the sixers.

that dysfunctional Magic team that Dwight magically carried to the Finals had 5 double digit scorers not including JJ Redikk or Courtney Lee. Iverson's team had 2 other double digit scorers, and 1 of them came off the bench. Iverson's praised because he actually carried a team, where's Dwight's MVP trophy:mjpls:

:whoa:

So, having a top 5 defensive team in the NBA, 2 of the best on the ball defenders in the NBA at PG and SF (at their positions), the 6th Man of The Year coming off the bench, The Defensive Player of The Year at Center, and the Coach Of The Year running the team......and we supposed to be Allen Iverson was alone?

In the 2001 regular season, with Iverson playing 71 of em, the Sixers went 50-21. In 29 of those games, he shot under 40% from the field:scusthov:.....the team went 16-13 in those games:comeon:

In the 2001 playoffs, with Iverson playing in 22 of em, the Sixers went 12-10. In 13 of those games, he shot under 40% from the field:huhldup:.....the team went 7-6 in those games:usure:

NOW,

I say all that to say this. What OTHER star player has ever been on a team, with "supposedly" garbage players, where the Star can shoot under 40% from the field and STILL have their teams have a winning record in both the regular season and the playoffs???:dwillhuh:

Yall AI stans have always overrated him and underrated that team.

What?
Lol, at you guys thinking that soft mama's boy Durant is better than Iverson.

Dude, AI was playing with nobodies. Snow, Mckie, Tyrone Hill, Kevin Ollie and Matt Geiger's of the NBA. Motumbo literally went on the respirator when he sat down, that's how old he was. What he did with that 00-01 Sixers team is a lifetime achievement itself.

Maybe because he averaged 33.7 mpg in the regular season and 42.7 mpg in the playoffs:damn:

I would think ANY big man, except Wilt Chamberlain, would need a respirator if they averaged 42.7 mpg in the NBA Playoffs, while playing every game, INCLUDING 2 Game 7's.

Durant is the 2nd best player in the league. AI was never top 3 when he was playing (Shaq, Timmy, Kobe, KG, Etc etc). Easy answer.

Who else was supposed to shoot the ball for them? He didn't have a 2nd option like Westbrook, and scorer like Harden to come off the bench. AI "WAS" the Sixers.

Lemongrass, cherries, alkaline water

I wasn't quoting all of that bullshyt. Men lie, women lie, numbers dont. Look at that Sixers team playoff production and tell me who carried the team. Wait I know, it was Mutombo's defense and 6th man of the year McKie that got em to the Finals :rudy:

Would you take any of those on your team? Most of them were 3pt shooters that just hung around the 3pt line and waited for the ball. Noone outside of Nelso who could create his own shot

If I had a team, would I take a still serviceable 6'10 Hedo Turkoglu who was a primary creator in that Orlando offense? Absolutely. Would I take wings like Courtney Lee and Pietrus who will defend and knock down the 3 ball? Who wouldnt? Would I take a stretch 4 like Lewis who was averaging 19 points a game? No question about it. That Orlando team had some really good pieces and if it wasn't for their incompetent management blowing up that team prematurely they could've competed for several more titles.

Didnt really need it. The defensive players were on the team, because you couldnt put GOOD offensive players around AI....he wouldnt pass the ball. They decided to build a team around unselfish, defense first players and win that way.

And they did.

Again, AI played a total of 93 games in that 2001 season (including playoffs) in which 42 of those games he shot UNDER 40%......the team went 23-19 in those games.

If the team werent any good at all, there's no way the team would have a .548 win percentage with him shooting that bad.

Defensive Player Of The Year
Coach Of The Year
6th Man Of The Year
2 of the best on ball defenders at PG and SF in the NBA
Prime Allen Iverson

He was not alone on the 2001 Sixers.

This is like saying who would lebron be with out his weight and superior athleticism . He obviously wouldn't be who he is hell if he was 240 he wouldn't be who he is.

Which is true...idk about the 240 part though he was still more powerful than most perimeter players when he was younger.

It was just an observation on the two players compared, who I don't see as comparable.
