I dont really care for him much but Dwight Howard carried that disfunctional Magics team to the finals. I dont see people hailing him as the messiah like they do AI.

that dysfunctional Magic team that Dwight magically carried to the Finals had 5 double digit scorers not including JJ Redikk or Courtney Lee. Iverson's team had 2 other double digit scorers, and 1 of them came off the bench. Iverson's praised because he actually carried a team, where's Dwight's MVP trophy :mjpls:

a 6'11" guy should be better than a 5"11" guy just shows how good AI was

Ai would still be in the league if he was ever as tall as Durante is now. Ai was one of the best scores of all time but relied too much on his quickness once he got old and slower he had nothing else to offer. Plus defensively you were forced to pair him up withan oversized point guard. Durant has the ability to score in spot up situation without getting near basket because he can shoot over his man and his length makes him a difficult matchup defensively. Mismatch ever time he steps on to the court. He'll be a valuable player even when he starts moving like dirk.

Fixed.

The reason Iverson had to rely on his quickness/speed was because he was six feet tall and probably 165 pounds soaking wet.

When people talk about Iverson they conveniently forget this. How many guys that small end up playing big roles in their mid-to-late 30s?

This comparison is too wild...too far apart...a questionably 6 foot slashing combo guard vs a 6'10" jumpshooting forward. The only common thread to me is that both rely on a physical trait; Iverson on his quickness, Durant on his length. They wouldn't be who they are without it.

This is almost like comparing Isiah and Bird...you technically can...but you can't lol

Would you take any of those on your team? Most of them were 3pt shooters that just hung around the 3pt line and waited for the ball. Noone outside of Nelso who could create his own shot

Dwight benefited from that too. AI and Dwight wouldn't make it out the first round in The Western Conference. The Eastern Conference is fukking ass.

This is like saying who would lebron be with out his weight and superior athleticism . He obviously wouldn't be who he is hell if he was 240 he wouldn't be who he is.

Isiah Thomas>>>>AI

Durant is definitely at this point of his career is eons better than Allen Iverson ever was.

Man, just stop this dumb shyt.

Nobody is "eons" better than a first ballot Hall of Famer. Michael Jordan isn't EONS better than Allen Iverson.

I agree with the Isiah better than Iverson statement though; but Isiah >>> Durant as well, so that doesn't help in this argument.

A.I. had a lot of good defensive players on his squad too.

What?
Lol, at you guys thinking that soft mama's boy Durant is better than Iverson.

Dude, AI was playing with nobodies. Snow, Mckie, Tyrone Hill, Kevin Ollie and Matt Geiger's of the NBA. Motumbo literally went on the respirator when he sat down, that's how old he was. What he did with that 00-01 Sixers team is a lifetime achievement itself.
