At this point in time, why do people still have so much faith in Kawhi?

Great player absolutely :hubie: Not taking that away from him

But you’re not even getting 70 games out of him, and you’re not getting a deep playoff run either.

You’re not you’re just not let’s be for real now. Yet in all the off-season talk I see it’s “how to build around KAWHI” and “should they move on from Paul George”:gucci:

It’s like people don’t wanna admit the reality of that man.
His knee is cooked. I'll be shocked we get a playoff appearance out of him in the next three years of his contract. A few fans might say how they should build around him but the team isn't. As much as people sh*t on PG, and rightfully so at times, he has to be tired of him bowing out of the post season damn near every year.

He has as many final mvps as some of the all time great players in the sport, was a defensive player of the year previously, and was still second team all nba this season as well. When healthy he is an elite player

Norfeast groovin…
Facts. Amazing player, him (and PG) are the archetype of the modern wing tbh

But at this point he’s the #2 guy. Not even because of skill but you really can’t bank on him being there every night in a playoff run. In fact he might miss and entire series :manny:

Realistically you probably need two players to handle the load

He’s in the upper echelon of all time playoff performers so people will always respect him. I really wish he coulda stayed healthy this year. I think the Clips were legit.

No one does. Also neither Harden or PG are really tradeable due to clips cap situation/their contract status.

At the end of the day Kawhi is the proven championship level #1 out of the Clippers major players. If they have to pivot and move some of them, he will always the one to hold onto. Kawhi will retire a Clipper unless he decides otherwise.
Being a mute really helps dude.

If he was in any way flamboyant or annoyingly cocky he would get a lot more hate.

Between never being available and the goofy moves his uncle has advised him to make it's actually A LOT from him folks could hate on.

Being silent is a power.
Also this.

I’m so glad the raps got the best of him in 2019. He was healthy and dominant during the whole postseason. He was such an important part of that championship team that year

Since he joined the clippers he’s struggling to stay healthy and deliver mvp performances in the playoffs. In hindsight, I’m glad he didn’t sign with Toronto as a free agent in July 2019.

San Antonio always got the red carpet treatment!
I know it’s mean and perverse to say it but The raptors front office should have given a ring to Zaza pachulia. If he doesn’t injure kawhi in game 1 of the 2017 WCF, he never misses the entire 2017-18 season and he never gets traded to Toronto in 2018. I know we could have never won the chip without him.

He been done… The basketball gods gifted him that last championship in TO and now he’s just trying to finish out his career, getting as much money as he can before he’s finished. I think the Clips been knowing he’s can only be a part time contributor now and they’re fine with it because a part time Kwahi is better than a lot of other players full time, except when it’s playoff time and that absence becomes a liability.

After this last three years on his extension it’s over and assuming PG leaves, I doubt they make the playoffs again with him there as they’re primary guy.

the clippers were hopeful this year when they gave him the extension plus they had no other choice. he was playing at an all nba level this year but he broke down at the end of the year and gave it a go but clearly wasnt himself and had to shut it down. the obvious reply is whats new hes always injured. the difference is the prior two injuries were bad luck major injuries with the torn acl knocking him out of the clippers wcf run and the entirety of the next season then last season in the playoffs he was playing great and then a torn meniscus.

he was out this year with knee inflammation, now is that just the deal where he needed more rest and they didnt have time to give it to him or is it now the chronic thing that is just gonna pop up out of nowhere.

so im amost more concerned about this latest injury because there isnt something to repair. i have faith in kawhi when hes healthy but the other concern i have is these playoffs needed to be the clippers year, at this point i think theyre too old. its also asking too much of an injury riddled 33 year old kawhi to play the 4. team desperately needs someone at the 4 to do more of the dirty work. not that it would be ideal but worst case scenario id start daniel theis, kobe brown, or kai jones at the 4 if they cant get lucky or swing a move for an established starter, anything to alleviate some potential paint wear and tear on kawhi for at least half the game.

Nah kawhis relationship with the spurs were already on the fritz from 2016. He was gone regardless :mjcry: the Zaza fiasco and then thigh rehab was just fuel to the fire

Everyone claimed the Spurs ruined Kawhi and ran him into the ground.

During his time as a San Antonio Spur, Kawhi averaged 30.4 minutes per game.
Since leaving the Spurs, he's averaged 33.7 minutes per game.

Yall really fell for that Uncle Dennis okey doke.

I don’t and I don’t think many people do in general.

Clips need to just pray for the best at this point since they extended him. 30MPG cap, 50-55 game cap, no back to backs. Hopefully he’s healthy enough to make it to the playoffs and contribute. Probably not though :manny:
