Also. I been to PLENTY of concerts where if shyt was VISIBLY getting too crazy the artist would stop the show and tell people in the crowd to relax. Plenty of them. Maybe not crackas but definitely every black show I been to that started to get OD in the crowd.

this. Even at EDC when people were having episodes from OD’ing, people were quick to offer water or flag down medical staff. Very few did that here and just went on raging. People that did try to flag anyone down were boo’d.

when you see unconscious people being crowdsurfed to get out of the sea of people, there may be something going on and you may want to stop for a minute.

If there was a stampede, the only people who should be responsible are the people responsible for causing it.

Security at stuff like this is simply an illusion to make you feel safe, like the TSA. Ask yourself if a concert has several thousand people or more and there are only 100 unarmed guards, what are they really going to do if the entire crowd gets out of control? You can't plan your way out of people deciding to jump fences, stampede, and avoid reasonable barriers for crowd control. If the crowd gets out of control the only people who can reasonably handle that is a large anti-riot force.

Legally though, I'm sure the venue can be held responsible. But the only people at fault for people's death is the dumb-ass crowd.

i never been pepper sprayed/maced before but i'm pretty sure it's effective for controlling multiples of people. crowd control is not some new phenomena. they should have sprayed all those people at the vip entrance. then since they saw at that point (in the afternoon) that they couldn't control shyt, they should have shut it down

That's now how Travis fans roll. I saw the Astroworld tour in Charlotte and in the merch huddle (event staff didnt even pretend to care about keeping an organized line) some high school girl was so drunk/high on something she needed medical attention desperately. Her friends legit just left her to lay in the floor in the middle of the merch huddle, so they wouldnt lose their place in line, and a couple of us actual adults (all black, for context) in the merch huddle had to get everybody to back the fukk up and get her some medical attention and keep her from getting stepped on. these kids are different man. I loved the show (top 3 concert I've been to) but I felt a level of disregard and lack of care in the air that night that I don't remember us having when we were younger going to shows.
