At Home Gym Setup During Quarantine

*I know we have a gym sub forum, it’s a graveyard.

So now that it’s lookin like we’re gonna be in this for more than I few months, it’s lookin like my cheap ass is gonna have to finally spend money on a home gym setup. This body weight, resistance bands movement ain’t gonna cut it. I need to pump iron. So I’m planning on getting the Olympic weight barbell set for about $300 and a bench to start off. Any suggestions and price points on other equipment or benches? I remember when I was looking a few years ago, there was a bench set that could adjust into a squat rack but I can’t seem to find it anymore.

Check craigslist first, most people usually sell their weight plates sell for .50-.75 cents a pound.

Yeah i was looking around for more kettlebells and dumbbells. Everything is sold out or way too much

Supposedly the height of this is about 8.5 feet and about 5 feet 9 inches wide.

I can take a pic of it when it gets delivered (April 1st-6th)

I paid about $500 for it

Damn. $500 plus I’d still have to cop the weights and bench. Lil too rich for my blood rn. Maybe when I get that stimulus check

My set up:

- Two adjustable dumbbells (200 lbs total)
- Weight Vest (up to 140 lbs). Use this for weighted pushups and one legged squats.
- Dip Bars with harness attachment for weighted dumbbell dips
- Flat bench
- 4 resistance band sets, each 150lb each. I have V-Bar, straight bar I can use for seated cable rows/tricep extensions. With multiple band sets I can up the resistance pretty high, particularly for shrugs.
