One day after police in Newport News took 28-year-old Kwame Anderson into custody. Police say Anderson was illegally filming men at the Spa World. There are reportedly 81 victims who were caught on camera.
Police say the investigation began in May when a victim saw a nude video of himself online. FOX 5 has been told the video was on an obscure social media side — the Sang Lee, the spa’s owner, describes it as the dark web.
According to police, all the videos were filmed with a cell phone and taken inside the men’s locker room.
FOX 5 has been told the reason why police were likely able to pinpoint the location of at least 81 victims is that the men’s locker room is unique, being that there’s a pool, full nudity, and a sauna.
“This victim, the customer of ours, called us and indicate that he shared the link with us, so one of our employees went into the link to find out the pictures and they were trading, selling them and buying it... this is not right,” said Lee.
Anderson is charged with three felonies and two misdemeanors. Three of the people filmed are underage. All the victims are men.
Anderson remains in custody in Newport News, he’s scheduled to be transported to Fairfax County in the coming days.
