Ancient/Feudal Japan is not really a popular video game setting though. At least on a AAA level.

The setting and title will lead people to compare the two games even if it’s not intentional. That’s why I question their decision to go the Vikings route.

They already have the groundwork for recreating European environments from previous games. Just need to touch it up. Didn't the Egypt game reuse environments from the Greek game? A China based game wouldn't come out until next year if that. Look at Watch Dogs Legion. It basically fell off of the radar because it needed more time. That was supposed to come out in March. Both Ubi games btw.
