I think that's because England is lame as fukk historically and geographically. At least with Greece you get the island culture, the contrast between Spartans and Athenians, varied topography.
Literally 80% of the biggest map is relatively flat.

And also, if you aren't English most of these people have no meaning to you.
With Origins and Odyssey they were pulling on representations of really known figures and stories like Cleopatra, Plato, Herodotus, Socrates, Julius Caesar, etc.
Alfred the Great and Ivarr the Boneless ain't got the same name in the streets in 2020.

I get that these are pretty much exercises in bigging up their own Euro heroes and mythologies, but nobody's tryna run around gloomy England for entertainment. I might as well play AC Seattle. Even Scotland would have been more interesting. If I have to delve into barbarism, give me the cultured versions in Persia or China or some such.

Its why I think the next AC should be in Moorish Spain/Al-Andalus. The level of culture, the Reconquista, differing topography. Hitting Cordoba, Toledo, Barcelona, Granada, Aragon etc.

It would be dope to me.

Knowing Ubisoft, they'll try and bounce back from all their recent PR hits by doing China :skip:

I think one of the future DLCs for Valhalla is supposed to take place in Paris/France, so hopefully the geography will look more interested compared to England. Even IRL, Scotland and Ireland are more geographically and culturally interesting than England.

Ubisoft will prolly give the Moors a racially ambiguous look like they gave Bayek so not to agitate their main target demographic :mjlol:

Nah, France just as flat until you get to the Alps. And at this point the Normans (who descend from a NPC you can get for your crew in this game) aren't even there yet. The sons of Charlemagne split up the Carolingian Empire already...so it wasn't much happening at the time until the Normans became a thing and came up and crush England buildings.
