Assassins Creed: Shadows (Japan) 2024+

Crazy how white people complain about a black guy in the game. But not about the europeans always showing up in samurai stuff.
Samurai existed for a long ass time, Japan was very isolationist during most of the period. and yet they always find the moments in history when they would cross paths with europeans and put them in the games and movies. Why i liked Ghost of Tshusima, because it had zero white people in it.

Anyways i say that because immediately after playing the prolque the combat system just made me miss that game. couldn't even play further just uninstalled and booted up ghost again. looking forward to yotei. liked assasins creed better back when the combat was just countering. yeah it was basically but more cinematic and satisfying. This new combat system is too arcadey for me,

just look at Nioh we had to play a cracker ass samurai and no one cared, Yasuke was even depicted as a samurai in that game too. Just shows we only care about playing good games and the other side is just obsessed with politics and race.

They need to patch Koriyama Castle with the quickness. The animation on the castle blurs in and out and half the enemies including The Guardians literally stood there and did nothing

It's also rather annoying that Yasuke can't climb and reach certain viewpoints that Naoe can.

It’s not fw GOT at all? I wasn’t as high on it as most: it felt like a slightly better modern AC, and I haven’t fw modern AC since Origins.

Might have to hold off for a deep sale on this one

I felt like the story was more interesting as well.
Main thing i liked better about assassins creed, is its actually in Japan, like real cities, GOT was just rural areas, so no cities to navigate, beatiul setting like a piece of art. but nothing else really to do in the world except follow the story and collect collectibles along the way.

I didn't make it very far in this game but i assume there is alot more side content like boat traversal, mini games, customizing bases, romance options etc like most assassins creed games.

How is the stealth? Noticeable upgrade? I can deal with it if I can just do some OG style stealth and parkour

I'm 27 hours into AC:Shadows but to me, GoT is superior. AC:S so far to me is a very good game and a return to form but it's missing the magic. It's missing that certain touch. Feels kinda empty/souless. I still think Ghosts is better looking as well. The voice acting is better in Ghosts. The protagonist is better in Ghosts even though I fukk with Naoe and Yasuke. Jin was more layered and unforced. More natural. Combat is better in Ghosts. AI is still dumb on harder difficulties at some points in AC but they were also kinda dumb in ghosts too. Ghosts was more challenging on harder difficulties though, especially the dual fights. GoT is an authentic samurai game. But like I said. I'm only 27 hours in but that's my initial impression. I was floored by GoT like 10 hours into my playthrough.

Yesterday, I completed Act 1 of the main story. Gonna play with Yasuke.

This might be my favorite AC next to Origins

Ubisoft finally step up and this shyt might be better than GoT but GoT 2 gotta show something than this or else.

It's better, GOT gonna stay on my Wishlist forever after trying it out on a friend's PS5.

I'm sure GOT 2 will blow everything out of the water again. But anyone saying GOT looks better than this is hella cappin. The weather effects alone dwarf most open world games out right now.

In contrast, Shadows is an action-adventure RPG where you control two characters: Yasuke and Naoe. Yasuke, the samurai, has a variety of melee combat options including a long katana, naginata, and kanabo, as well as ranged weapons like a bow and teppo. Meanwhile, Naoe, the ninja, has her own melee options, including a katana, kusarigama, and tanto, while her ranged weapons consist of kunai and shuriken.
