Edit I just realized he may fall outside your 2010 window that you mentioned

i apologize for that, but past 2010 its just been hard personally to keep up, that was the year i had my son, i couldnt work, fix my drug habit, become a rising producer, be a good man to my girl while watching boxing prospects all at the same time. sadly ive become a casual fan. i just dont have the time to moniter everything like i used to. also 2010-2014 was when my drug habit ensued and i didint follow much of anything but big fights at that point. so i apologize if i cant tell you much about the prospects of recent.

oh @Cole Cash thoughts on Andre Berto, Orlando Salido, Mikey Garcia, Jeff Lacy, and Tim Austin

Last time i saw tim austin he was getting starched by rafa "i used to be the brother who mattered" marqez. Orlando Salido reminds me of jhonny gonzalez who always seems to get that critical win to keep his career going before you write him off. That and the fact that he owns Juan Manuel Lopez soul like Ray Lewis owns eddie george. One thing that always struck me as odd was after he beat robert guerrero (shortly after guerrero defeated that bum erik aiken i think on showtime) thaat he tested positive for juice then tested negative for it. I for real didint get it. His victory over Mtagwa whom JunaMa went life and death with along with stopping and beating the living shyt out of lopez gained me alot of respect for him. Hes not exactly young for his weight neither.

Jeff Lacy :mjcry: i bought the hype. His knockouts of robin reid, among others whom calzhage had to have trilogies with had me convinced in my foolish triangle theoried brain that he was gonna beat the shyt out of calzhage. fact is, i hadnt had a good look at joe, and when i did, he wasnt that good. BECAUSE HE WASNT. im still convinced calzhage feasted on old nikkas and bums like peter manfredo. Of course taking on roy jones and hopkins at the end and yes i still think hopkins won . Watching Lacy we were all desperate for someone who was exciting with the heavyweight division a CAC filled garbage dump, tyson officially retiring, the heavyweight cac brothers running the show, we just wanted to see someone knock somebody the fukk out. He was one demensional and one handed. My stepfather never saw what was so great, but i wanted to believe :mjcry: we all did. Joe had postponed that fight so many times that it was hard to know if he was just shook or for real. For as much as i hate that cac joe, thats a credible win, :mjcry: fukk you joe.

Andre Berto there really isnt much to say about him other than hes a guy who was only destined to have so much success. He was quik, great combinations with absolutely no head movement, His fight with Ortiz was incredible though, I always enjoyed his fights, but his lack of head movement used to kill me, i couldnt understand why he would needlessly take shots that were easily avoided. He was a better fighter with more heart to me than Ortiz but he let ortiz lure him into a shootout and that shootout essentially took alot out of him. You have to wonder what he could have done against Mosley if he would have taken it, but i can understand why he didnt, your family, your homeland destroyed. If brasil particularly areas of rio and bahia were devastated i would be hurt as well. I had been watching dirrell, berto and ward since the olympics and it was obvious he had the tools, his loss Guerrero leaves a bad taste in my mouth. That was clearly dirty and unfair but Berto has to man up and dirty him right back, Guerrero was real unapologetic about what he did in that fight, i told Berto this personally when i ran into him in san leandro he was getting his haircut at bayfair mall, i like guerrero and i may actually run into him at any moment here in gilroy when im with my son and woman but what he did was straight dirty, but berto should have low blowed him, something to get him off him. I felt like Bertos limitations got the best of him that fight, but i always enjoyed him and still do. He gave Mayweather a better fight than fukking pacquiao thats for sure.

Early Paulie and Cotto

Early Paulie was a guy whom had the same problems i have, brittle fukking hands. My hands are made out of glass and break easily. This is why i would say that if i couldnt hurt you to the body or keep you at bay with the jab i sucked as a fighter. Paulie had excellent footwork and if he had any power whatsoever he really could have been something special, but he just didint have the power. His fight with cotto even in his loss impressed me, he fought with a broken fukking jaw, and didint survive neither, he fought to his damn near death, crazy thing is i watched that ppv ( i know i overpaid but i was desperate nd had money back then) anyhow like i said. I loved paulie but he needs to give it up. He definately laid down the (easy) blueprint to beat broner and could have arguably done enough to win if the judges would have scored it slightly differently. Paulie in another era would have been one of them white superstars that every itailian would know his name. but he one of them dudes that just came too late and his style just didnt resonate outside of the hardcore.

Berto never matched up his hand speed and foot speed. Low key version of Khan to me.

What'd you see from Khan on the come up, and please get to Mikey G.

What I saw from kahn was that he was getting dropped from guys he had no business getting dropped by, he had frank warren aka "the protector" as his promoter and it was clear his chin was fragile, similar to how ward used to get dropped like that too, but the thing is, Kahn never made the adjustments to stop getting smacked like that until it was too late. I never was a big fan of kahn, when that columbian knocked his block off i wasnt suprised, his chin was wide open and he was fighting dudes that couldnt touch him power wise but the flaws were always there, chin straight up, combinations that were methodical with his chin sitting there waiting to be shattered. Even today i just dont see how this guy was anything but an above average fringe contendor, this is going back to 2005 when i was really getting a good look at him, during the olympics though i was impressed with his speed though, he did his country proud in a place where they are largely racist against his kind, i stand with him on that.

Mikey G is a monster whos promotional problems are gonna end up taking away from who he should be right now, a p4p top guy. Hes like how GGG is hyped but hes actually fought live bodies, moved up in weight and his resume is solid. I wasnt sure how he would handle Salido but good lord, im sold. The problem is, in the time he hasnt fought, i have relapsed, got back on track, got my girl back put my family together and this nikka still hasnt been in the ring in a year. you just cant take time off like that when youre a small guy, far better than his brother ever was who was champ i think back in 98 i cant remember but his brother was servicable, mikey is for real. knockout power, footwork to set it up, angles. You have to love it when hes in there.

how do you feel about the Dominican Gawd Joan Guzman :lupe:

I feel like there was one moment that completely ruined his career. There was a matchup in fall 2007, Humberto Soto vs Guzman. The winner was the face manny pacquiao. Guzman was basically a practitioner of the shoulder roll but unlike fukking broner, moved, used combinations and used it to anticipate punches and set up his offense, but do what broner does and stand in the fukking ring and do his best mayweather impersonation while pretending to be "about billions" when in 3 years hes gonna be "about child support" yea i said it @Newzz . Anyways, Guzman won the bout and bob arum said some bullshyt like "oh hes boring were gonna fight marquez again" which at the time was not the fight the hardcore really wanted, basically if Soto won march would have seen pacquiao and soto. I was a big pacquiao fan at the time and i was really more upset with bob arum because to this day, i dont see pac as a scared or shook dude but a guy who clearly doesnt control his own destiny.

The victories against soto and barrios should have had him set for a major fight and it never happened.

Guzmans own undoing and lack of personal control would ruin his "should have been" career. Hes right there with francisco bojado "i have it all so im now gonna throw it away". i loved dude i thought he was next. But again, another Jae Millz in the making.

If yall notice i really loved jae millz. :mjcry:

look at how jr writer sounds pesdetrian as fukk after the gawd millz blessed this piff.

even as guzman was eating himself out of his career he was still hard as fukk to beat but it caught to him...i didnt like that khabib fight where he took his L...was ugly and sad to watch

bojado..i have no idea what the fukk happened there...i wasn't high on him but i thought he had talent...i think it was all mental...dude folded under the pressure

Miguel Cotto. Man i love cotto, i always will. There was one fight in particular that started me on him after his olympic bid, it was his fight against his former olympic foe, Muhammed Abudellev, I always liked that guy, Abdullev had this peak-a-boo style and would launch these unorthodox punches from these weird angels. Cotto went in there and put a severe beating on dude, it wasnt just that cotto has this body attack, but he had everything, a jab, hooks, combinations, but his footwork, he could be fleet footed if he needed to. The problem was that he had this insufferable fukking chin that led to one of the GOAT fights, Torres vs Cotto. If you havent seen it, get the fukk out of my thread. Anyhow, dude was leaving nikkas bruised, battered, i actually bet against cotto against shane mosley and against zab judah and lost twice :mjcry:

Cotto was a guy who was ALWAYS gonna give mayweather a problem, cotto is about timing and mayweather has to be timed, ITS CRUCIAL you catch him properly. The problem is that the top rank/golden boy war killed alot of great fihts, im not talking about the mayweather saga neither, it hurt Alot OF FIGHTS. Mayweather retired i still think to this day because for one he wanted a rest and for two his bitterness over bob arum really frustrated him. He wanted 10 milli for de la hoya hatton and cotto or some shyt and bob wouldnt budge. He was more than happy to fight margarito, nobody ever brings it up but cotto knows it too, which is why cotto never went out of his way to really bash mayweather, they were all under the same umbrella.

The margarito fight really hurt me later on, i was going for margarito, my girl the mother of my son, the woman i love, is mexican, so i went for the mexican :mjcry: i didint even fukking like margarito, but i could see how it would be a problem if cotto couldnt hurt him, im convinced for real that he fukking cheated and this ruined cotto forever. Im serious, he was NEVER the same. Also, Cottos body attack while vicious is very methodical, theres this thing he does with his feet where he takes this step before he throws the left hand to the body, its hard to stop but if you have the footwork or just make it uglyl and tie it up you can stop it. The fight against pacquiao im still covinced his shytty corner did him in.

Cotto will always get a pass from me, Margarito cheated and ruined him, his fight against mayweather was a good one, but at 140/147 it could have been beautiful
