it's a big party, nothing much to it. just an excuse to get gifts, mine wasn't particularly religious because my family has a pretty big aversion to give rabbi's money.
most of my friends were way more extravagant.

Been thinking about buying distressed property myself. In what geographic markets are you invested?
when comes to buying things (not big purchases), are you a practical person? do you buy something that is clearly overpriced, even though you can easily afford it (like some brand clothes which has shytty quality) or will look for other cheaper options?

i buy quality clothes and food. i don't buy brands, i try to buy nice clothes from europe that has no logos.
but not interested in a nice car or jewelry or an extravagant apartment.
