I have a 2002 escape
I have this radio
http://www.sonicelectronix.com/item_89876_Pioneer-FH-X720BT.html
I wanted a double din hu but don't wanna get my windows broken for a screened radio
I want to spend about 500 for speakers, sub and amp
Nothin crazy, just want an upgrade
I want to add a sub but don't want to lose space in the back
Ive seen this
https://www.mtx.com/fescp01t12u-mtx-vehicle-specific-custom-subwoofer-enclosure
But it's 350 for an empty box

Is there anywhere I could go to get something similar for cheaper

The AVH-4000 NEX has a detachable screen.

I always turn down my system's volume before parking then detach after. My ssd hdd stays in the glove box, my sd remains in the receiver

Getting your windows tinted also helps

Get this instead http://www.sonicelectronix.com/item_43929_Clarion-CZ702.html

speakers: Polk db6501

sub: Infinity 860W

amp: PPI P900.4

I'll look for a box.

As far as fiberglass enclosures, they're $$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$..not a option for a budget install.

I have had noise with the clarions with the dsp built in. The double din had same issues. Lasted a week before returning. Went with Alpine, pioneer and sony and no issues. I think youre fine with your pioneer. the clarion has time delay which I cant live without. Many inexpensive sony DD's do as well.

I also had a 05 escape

Double din is impossible to steal as you have to remove the fascia to access it, not a drop in replacement. Need to cut some plastic.

Found some stuff on my install.

Personally Id get the ppi amp suggested or scroll down for a blaupunkt amp with dsp. Also get component speakers. Polk DB are good budget. 5x7 or 6x8s are drop in and pioneer makes a nice budget comp set.

Couple other speaker options

http://www.sonicelectronix.com/item_12260_JBL-P660C.html

http://www.sonicelectronix.com/item_12224_Pioneer-TS-D1720C.html

I used the jl stealthbox but Id have no issue buying the thunderform. All the trunk space makes up for the price imo. Get it unloaded and numerous better subs fit in like the linked infinity.

An amp that has built in delay and has been overlook is this blaupunkt

ebay item number 5410615d41 for a great deal

info on amp

http://www.blaupunkt.com/us/nc/products/in-vehicle-entertainment/amplifiers/products/single/4128/

Very solid amp and delays front left which is all that is needed. Then your pioneer doesnt really have to go.

Youll need this to adjust the dsp

http://www.vickersav.com/index.php?main_page=product_info&products_id=5481

Amp will stay with you if you decide to upgrade as it can power a fully active front stage.

No 5 channel needed. Rear speakers are powered of headunits rear speaker internal amp. I dont use them at all for a simple setup.

Suggest a system for me

Budget $1200

Willing to update the deck but if I do want something Double DIN with Navi.

Speaker set up for my car
- 2x 3.5" tweeters up on the dash
- 2x 6.5" speakers in the door
- 2x 6.9" speakers in the rear

I like bass so I'm open to sub(s), but I like to be able to hear all ranges.

How do you feel about subs that's less than 10"?

I drive a 2014 Charger with stock sound system. I like the speakers but the console (touchscreen thing) is fukking basic. Is it possible to upgrade that shyt to something more updated? The way it's built into the center console, I don't know how you'd even be able to take it out without ripping out the A/C and all that shyt.

Just looking for some insight on if it's even possible or worthwhile to look into.

Good double din with navigation will eat through 90% of your budget

What is this going in?

That's one thing I hate about modern cars

The head units have so much shyt built in to them that it's nearly impossible to swap them out.

What do you find basic about it?

Look into the higher end model Chargers and see if the headunits are different

Not a bad unit

Only thing I don't like about Double Din's are the shytty screens & slow user interface.

I like this one since it has more bands of EQ http://www.sonicelectronix.com/item_76248_Pioneer-AVIC-5000NEX.html

But if it were up to me? Used ipad, ipad mold for the dash, and a processor. Might run you a couple dollars more, but an old ipad is 1000000x better than even a flagship double din.

As far as everything else goes

Speakers: Polk Audio DB6501(Grab these on ebay)

Amp: PPI P600.2(also on ebay)

Subs: Either 3 Pyle Blue Wave 12's or 2 15's...whichever will fit

You'll be wanting to get these installed Infinite baffle. This way you get a lot of cone area for your buck and keep 99% of your trunk space.

Pics for example
