Its so hard to watch most of the bs coming out these days. Ash looks like shyt. That new Duck Tales looks like shyt and Simpsons has been bad since the mid 2000's. I forget that they dont draw anymore, it's all computer generated.

Blue is pretty much Gary Oak, as he's Prof. Oak's grandson and Red's rival. Their stories are told via the manga, though the games and the manga try to reflect each other, there are some key differences in how the story progresses. In the manga, Red and Blue respectively get Bulbasaur and Charmander as their pokemon from Oak. Squirtle is later claimed(read: stolen) by a cunning bytch.

Red is the main character you played as in Red/Blue/Yellow, and the strongest trainer you fight in Silver/Gold/Crystal.

And if you go deeper down the Pokemon lore rabbit hole, there's a third trainer from Pallet Town named Green(re: cunning bytch) that ends up in the mix too.

The anime and the games/manga are two separate stories. Ash and Gary only exist in the anime, as they replace who Red and Blue would be in the manga/games.

In Gold/Silver, you'd technically be a trainer named Gold, and your rival(long red haired fukk) would be named Silver.

Everything borrows from the games and kinda takes on its own form, but the anime probably takes the most liberties.
