Re: Diversity for the sake of diversity

What's funny about this often used talking point is that none of this would even be happening if white people for the past 60-70 years didn't make all these damn superheroes white for the sake of being white :mjlit:

400 years ago - 2010s (or whatever :troll:) = white for the sake of white

Imagine if black people held away over a cottage industry like comic books and decided to diversify 75% of their characters as non-black. Only people I know that do that are the Japanese and their anime and that's a whole 'nother discussion.

This diversity bending phenomenon is clearly to drum up publicity and controversy, not to make a better movie or add anything to the narrative. This is on some White Blade level shyt. I see you Hollywood.

Keep them Jewish.

I hate these race bending shyt because people will still mostly associate the characters with the white versions

Promote the black characters

Google Nick Fury and count on one hand how many times the white one shows up.

:mjlol::lawd:

If they're not going to shake the character origins up they might as well just keep the actors from the most recent X-men movies which would be stupid as fukk seeing how they are DYING to roll "mutants" out and not have anybody think about the last couple shytty films.

Actual Black Characters so their legacy is built upon for 50 more years in movies and comics >>>>> Hoping to get a pat on the back for changing a white guy's skin

:manny:

Stan Lee/Marvel got their inspirations for X-Men by the Civil Rights movement with MLK and Malcolm X. Professor X is MLK and Magneto is Malcolm X. I got no problem either way.

THIS.

These cacs exposing themselves not truly understanding the characters with all that whining. :hhh:

That's actually not true. Same with that rumor that the fictional BP was based on the group.

Ya'll have to stop with this "You're white, you're wrong." shyt its corny.

Here's Stan Lee himself;

Were you aware that Professor X is more like MLK, and Magneto is more like Malcom X? Was that a conscious projection there?

I think it was certainly an unconscious feeling, yeah. And I never felt Magneto was a hundred percent bad. I mean, there were reasons why he felt that way, but it was just up to Professor X to find some way to make him understand that he was on the wrong track.

And the whole civil rights metaphor that ended up being the defining metaphor of the X-Men, did that come along in the first few issues?

It came along the minute I thought of the X-Men and Professor X. I realized that I had that metaphor, which was great. It was given to me as a gift. Cause it made the stories more than just a good guy fighting a bad guy.

You probably didn’t go into Martin Goodman and say, ‘Hey, I have a great metaphor for civil rights here.’ You said, ‘The kids are gonna love this.’
He wouldn’t have liked it, and he probably wouldn’t have understood it.

Keep them white. I really don't like how Disney repeatedly uses cacs' angry reactions to their race swapping casting to drum up publicity for their movies. I think at this point their use of race controversy to sell their movies is very much intentional.

So many underutilized black characters and yet they always do this shyt. Black Panther wasn't going to be a movie until black people on the internet pressured Feige to do it.

I don't understand why black people aren't more offended by this.

RiRi Williams was literally created to capitalize off of #BLM

Her name is Rihanna

She's from Chicago

Her friend was killed in gun violence

And all they did was make her "Black Magic Ironman"

Bbb-but why does the character have to be black? I hate this SJW shyt!

Me: Why did the character have to be white? I hate this NBC (nothing but cac) shyt! :mjlit:

Whatever happens, don't blame Feige or general audiences for not giving a shyt about source material accuracy, instead blame the white people running comics who made you think 1 black person for every 15 white people was acceptable practice :picard:

THERE ARE PLENTY OF ALREADY BLACK CHARACTERS THAT COULD USE THE MCU SPOTLIGHT!!!!!!

The reason you don't know who this is is because you wanna cheer Black Cyclops.

I want Falcon to have his own movie, not be Steve Roger's son carrying his shield around

THE shyt IS CORNY

Ya'll want white characters you can relate to with white audiences and not black characters both can learn about

DOn't get me started on the "haha we made white people mad" crowd

Black Fury is actually comic based...

So is Jane Foster and Sam Wilson taking up the mantle of Thor and Captain America...and people are using those as the examples of "black washing/gender swapping" despite being comic based.
