As for double Hip Hop albums, All Eyez On Me is 1A and then Underground Kingz is 1B

:what:

I'm gonna bypass u comparing that sh*tty Master P album to anything Scarface has ever done and focus on what u said about 1998....Lets look at the facts:

Outkast - Aquemini

Gangstarr - Moment Of Truth

Busta Rhymes - ELE

Killer Beez

Method Man - T2

Quik - Rhythymalism (Quiks comeback album)

Eightball - Lost ( Notice how in this very thread they are backnowledge this album)

Noriega - NORE

Big Pun - Capital Punishment

DMX - Its Dark/ Flesh...

Lauryn Hill - Miseducation...

Jay Z - Vol 2

Brand Nubian - Foundation

Juve - 400 degrees

BlackStar

MOP - first Family 4 Life ( how sick was this album?)

Redman - Docs Da Name
Scarface - My Homies

even the R&B was on point:

R Kelly - The R

112 - Room 112

Total - Kima Keisha Pam

Faith Evans

Brandy -

Monica - The Boy Is Mine

Maxwell - Embrya

even the rock music was on point:

Rob Zombie - Hellbilly Delux

Korn - Follow The Leader

That Marlyn Manson album with him naked on the cover

Bottom line:

I dont know where u were or what the hell u were listening too in 1998......But there were too many classics that came out that year for that year to be denied as one of the greatest years in Hip Hop ever.....

I never heard the Master P album so I can't comment on the quality. I was addressing your claim that only Face could bring the South together for a double album - when P had done it 3 years earlier.

I bolded the albums that I thought were classic in 98. Not an R&B or Rock guy - so I didn't even look at those. Of course, they wouldn't be very good support for your claim that 98 was one of the best years for hip-hop anyway. Also - you left off the Hiero album. It wasn't classic - but it was very good.

98 had some classics no doubt - but 91-96 were better. 87-88 also better. I guess I could see 98 as top ten. Not sure where I fall on 97 vs. 98. I think I'd go 98.

Didn't Master P do this in 1995?

I don't dispute 4 mics. I wouldn't call it a classic though. And 1998 wasn't one of the best years for hip hop (unless you want to include a lot of years in that distinction).

Yup P dropped the 2 disc Down South Hustlers compilation album in 1995.

That album a classic fukk what a nikka gotta say. P had every nikka in the Southern underground scene on that album it seemed like

2Pac's All Eyez On Me is the standard when it comes to double Hip Hop albums. He set the bar for that sh*t and knocked it out of the ballpark too.

I'd say UGK's Underground Kingz double album is like the sister to 2pac's brother All Eyez On Me album. UGK came back and did their thing on that album. And who would've thought that two cats who had been in the game already so long could come back and release not only one great disc but TWO! :what::damn:

Both of these albums have something from everybody on them and all of these brothers songwriting and production was excellent. :wow:
