As for double Hip Hop albums, All Eyez On Me is 1A and then Underground Kingz is 1B

AEOM

DI

those are the only double albums worthy of classic status.

PWOWR is good, but not on the same tier as AEOM and LAD, partly bc it's too new. Also, it won't have the impact those albums had.
Completely agree there. LAD/AEOM are not going to be topped as far as impact is concerned.

Hell I know it doesn't really count but that first Trill Azz Mixez (I remember picking it up in Soundwaves on S. Main) is like my top 3 UGK (unofficial) albums. shyt went hard and the mixing/blending was amazing.

I have a copy.....:takedat:. i'm not at home right now tho. i'll try to remember to upload it and put the link here when i get home...until then

That was a compilation though wasn't it? Face wasn't even on all the songs. That puts it in a different category to me. Also - I remember it being uneven. I bought it - but haven't listened in years.

Face was absent on only a few songs.....That album was Face being the true king of the south that he was......who could put all them southern boys on one album like that at the time but Face? Nobody. Devin The Dude, UGK, Master P...That album was an extension of Face's position in the game......It wasn't about Face...it was about giving others some shine....wether they are popular or not. That was a beautiful gesture in iteself. Even had a sprinkle of west coast in the mix with Too Short, Cube and Pac....Even that rock song at the end ois decent......1998 was one of the best years in Hip Hop and My Homies came out early that year. A few months later Geto Boys would drop an album that was so so with a dope album cover. My Homies was ride out music at its finest.....Source gave it 4 mics and that sounds about right.

Didn't Master P do this in 1995?

I don't dispute 4 mics. I wouldn't call it a classic though. And 1998 wasn't one of the best years for hip hop (unless you want to include a lot of years in that distinction).

:what:

I'm gonna bypass u comparing that sh*tty Master P album to anything Scarface has ever done and focus on what u said about 1998....Lets look at the facts:

Outkast - Aquemini

Gangstarr - Moment Of Truth

Busta Rhymes - ELE

Killer Beez

Method Man - T2

Quik - Rhythymalism (Quiks comeback album)

Eightball - Lost ( Notice how in this very thread they are backnowledge this album)

Noriega - NORE

Big Pun - Capital Punishment

DMX - Its Dark/ Flesh...

Lauryn Hill - Miseducation...

Jay Z - Vol 2

Brand Nubian - Foundation

Juve - 400 degrees

BlackStar

MOP - first Family 4 Life ( how sick was this album?)

Redman - Docs Da Name
Scarface - My Homies

even the R&B was on point:

R Kelly - The R

112 - Room 112

Total - Kima Keisha Pam

Faith Evans

Brandy -

Monica - The Boy Is Mine

Maxwell - Embrya

even the rock music was on point:

Rob Zombie - Hellbilly Delux

Korn - Follow The Leader

That Marlyn Manson album with him naked on the cover

Bottom line:

I dont know where u were or what the hell u were listening too in 1998......But there were too many classics that came out that year for that year to be denied as one of the greatest years in Hip Hop ever.....
