This is the weakest excuse I've ever heard. I guess whites and other races don't commit crimes. What is thug culture? Listening to certain type of music, dressing a certain type of way? Doing drugs? Cause whites do all that. You can be in a suit and tie, they still not gon like you, boy. Trayvon's only crime was that his skin was the wrong colour.

Telling black people to act less intimidating and to tone down our culture is useless as fukk. I've learned over time that it don't matter how white or polite you act towards them you still gon be a nikka to them. So why the fukk should we change, they see that black skin and everything else becomes a moot point to them.

As bad as those incidents were, trayvon martin died because GZ thought Trayvon Martin was a thug because of his personal ignorance which was informed by the media and the reality of our "urban" condition. Maybe he just wanted to kill a black person and get away with it, but I think on some level the stereotype played a role. I'm not saying Trayvon was acting like a thug or perpetuating a stereotype, I think he was just a normal kid, but he died because of a racist stereotype. Any other kid in that situation probably wouldn't have so much as raised an eyebrow, but Trayvon Martin is black and therefor subject to the scrutinization that comes with being a black man in America.
You could argue that GZ got off because the media initially portrayed Martin as an all-american saint, but the defense was effective at painting him as an aggressive thug who smoked refer, I'm sure that left an indelible impression on the minds of the all-white jury. All they had to do was attack his character which shouldn't have been so easy for them to do in the first place.
