I got on the light rail with many others and I'm dressed for work going to my insurance
job. So of course no hoody. Normal Gap pants and buttoned down with badge showing.
Hispanic light rail officer spots me and ONLY ask ME to see my pass on the crowded
rail line. I say I don't see you ask everyone else. He sighs and say he needs to see my
pass. I show it and said now go check everybody elses. He leaves and walks over to a
white female light rail officer and talk to her and stare back at me.

I've lived it. It doesn't matter. All they saw was my color

Amadou Bailo Diallo wasn't acting like a thug or perpetrating a "stereotype" when the cops shot him 41 times and murdered him in 1999. He was unarmed and had no criminal record

Ousmane Zongo wasn't acting like a thug or perpetrating a "stereotype" when he was chased down by an undercover cop and shot dead in 2003. He was unarmed and had no criminal record


Sean Bell wasn't acting like a thug or perpetuating a stereotyping when the police shot and called him on the night of his bachelor party in 2006. He was unarmed


The point is that we as Black Americans are second class citizens in the country and will continue to be so, stereotypes or NO stereotypes. That is the overall problem

this is easier said than done. continue this line of thought though, how would blacks build our own media engine from scratch. i mean we've got a handful of wealthy blacks who could put something together, but how does that control the propaganda against black men from their media? especially considering most whites wouldn't even be a consumer of our media.
