That’s the impression you got from my response? :russ:

I’m older than you young blood, I grew up listening to OutKast, Scarface, 8Ball and MJG, etc etc:mjgrin:

90’s southern hip hop > 2000’s southern hip hop

Sound like you gone off an 8ball more like :mjlol:

It aint got to be super lyrical. I agree with this. Everyone isn't Rakim or G rap, but it definitely has to be better than that bullshyt bar you posted. I remember when Jeezy dropped. It was maybe 2 months before I finally heard a song. I kept hearing everyone talking about him so I finally downloaded a track and thought it was a goddamn joke. At this point, I knew hip hop was in a place that was long gone from the 80s and 90s. I've always thought he was garbage. Dope beats, but that's all anyone cares about now anyway. Here we are about 19 years later, Thug Motivation 101 doesn't get the props TODAY as DangerDoom or Be (though it was more popular than the 2 back then). That Def Jam marketing machine is a mf.
Post three rappers you rock with, that you think are better than Jezzy so we can stop all this silly as nonsense you’re talking about :jbhmm:

ATL paid.. Cali blazed
The 1st time I heard Jeezy I remember like yesterday. I was playing the black album non stop every day. My sister me and one of her classmates skipped school smoked some purp and he played that Trap or Die. I was fukking blown away and from that day since I can count the number of times I relistened to the black album and ny music in general. That mixtape took the south by storm. School finished and I went to Mississippi for the summer and everybody and they mama was playing Jeezy. Everywhere u went u heard a song from the album . That time was legendary.

There was no way you could front on TM101

I was pretty heavy into backpacker shyt back then and didn't follow the south very much. Nevertheless, once I hit play on that intro it was pretty obvious that this was a classic album
I categorically remember saying jeezy was wiiiild trash with no lyrics when TM101 dropped. Then I had it on mp3 player and rinsed the fk out that album

Jeezy is like Too Short. He won’t impress you with crazy wordplay or flows, but he’ll get his point across very effectively.
