As a black man what should I expect in India.

Will be going next year. Was supposed to go to my ex roommates wedding 3 years ago but had to sort out some personal issues back home.

I will visit in the next 2 years tho, that's for certain. I've got a dharma wheel tatt'd on my forearm, gotta go to the place of origin and do some meditation.

My aunt goes there for business and therapy, she likes it, only thing she complains about is the smell. She stays at all the 5 stars and baller spots, so I can only imagine what's it's going to be like for a budget traveler such as myself. :mjlolz:

but whatever, I'm a backpacker, I'm adaptable, honestly I don't mind the smell of curry. :mannypac:

It's hella dirty, poverty is everywhere...

As a black man.... You good... There are indians there as black as you or darker... They know you aint Indian and you are a tourist. Indians dont be on that racism shyt when it comes to black people.... They do have a caste system that is somewhat based on skin color.... but only somewhat..... people say the untouchables are the darker indians, but thats not necessarily always the case.

I've also heard Indians say that northern Indians are usual lighter skin and "dumber". Southern Indians are darker and "smarter".

Nah. Just stay in Mumbai city. It's basically like NYC. Mumbai suburb on the other hand.....you gonna tussle with some goats my nikka:mjlolz:
This applies to almost all major cities in the world, you can't generalize international cities, they have individual districts with different economic levels. LA isn't all Beverly Hills/Hollywood, but it's not all South Central either. You just gotta do your research on which districts you want to visit.

I'll probably stay in the nicer districts, but I do wanna see both
