Was thinking about this the other day, a rappers career and image really is fragile. One big mistake and it can be all over. With that said let's take a look at some rappers and rnb acts who have taken L's they never recovered from or almost didn't recover from.
Ace Hood
Ace Hood was a certified hit maker till this happened to this watch!
He was never the same after this moment lol. Kinda petty when you look back at it but we never heard from him again.
B.O.B
B.O.B had hits, legit rhyme skills, production skills and a solid fan base until this...
He just wouldn't shut up about flat earth and I'm all for people thinking out of the box but the fans weren't a fan of these ideas at all.
His career became flat as well.
Chrisette Michele
Now Chrisette was super talented, didn't have the hottest career but had talent which opened the doors to countless opportunities and is a beautiful sister. Unfortunately the opportunity to perform for the Donald Trump inauguration was presented to her and she accepted it
After this her career was finished and her image never the same. She made attempts to explain herself as trying to create a space for healing, and being a voice of coming together during a time of great division in our Nation as a result of Trump's first presidency. However those attempts fell on deaf ears as fans had already made their minds up and were closed off from listening to her. She went on to suffer personal turmoil as she suffered a miscarriage and used someone else's pictures on Instagram to discuss it, a misstep because people looked at it as her lying about the miscarriage. The sad part is her label also dropped her around this period as well.
Chris Brown
You guys remember this
Dude's image was tarnished as being a certified hit-maker. He had so many hits and was the closest thing to MJ until the Rhianna incident happened and the pics of her face came out.
While Chris was able to stay low and recover (he even won a Grammy last year matter fact). You can't help but wonder what his career would have been had he just left Rihanna and their toxic relationship behind that night instead of physically fighting her. He has maintained success as a testament of his talent and the work of his publicist and team I'm sure. I wonder about all the work done behind the seen for him to get through all this and still have a successful career. Maybe one day that side of the story will be told but the truth is. it was almost over for him at this point.
What do y'all think could have been done different in these cases? Any other legendary examples come to mind.
