" black twitter " and black celebrities leaving twitter will kill it
That's only a part answer. Bluesky won't make a dent in Twitter unless they become a discussion hub during major events

A good indicator of where Bluesky stands is during an event like the Superbowl. If nikkas are actively and frequently discussing the Superbowl, Wrestlemania, the Finals etc on Bluesky then they've arrived

If Twitter still dominates live event discourse then :francis: :manny:

This is shocking. I can't believe a Boer CAC would let racist content on a platform he owns

It’s already happening. Reputable reporters are documenting engagement and reporting on breaking news like Korea yesterday said that Bluesky is winning in this category right now at least. We’ll see if it has staying power.

And there's still no mass movement to boycott. shyts crazy to me that mainstream companies, govts and general public post alongside neo-naiz on a platform owned by a WS
I've been considering the notion that boycotts are an archaic form of protest. When was the last time an effective boycott was organized?

Incentive, convenience, and FOMO always win

I hear you but that's a different category in my opinion

The way I see it Twitter wins because of 4 major pillars

News

Live events

Porn

Black Twitter

Bluesky becoming a news hub similar to old Twitter is a big deal but it's not enough. Bluesky would need major footing in at least 3 of those 4 pillars before it begins to become a true Twitter killer

Yeah the porn thing really is a tension point. It’s terrible but so many consume it. I hope it gets to point where really big companies view using X as a liability because lots of porn plus nazi propaganda is just bad branding.

What makes it archaic?

Those factors existed in the past. Boycotts have often been inconvenient whether it's a bus boycott or a salt march.

I think ppl are just more comfortable now and not as politically engaged as their ancestors who had to fight for every right.

Bolded is what makes it archaic

Again when was the last successful boycott? Ineffective methods must be discarded for better ones

Boycotts are very effective in theory, but the mobilization and commitment have proven to be a mountain very rarely climbed

I looked forward to the NBA players walking out in protest 4 years ago. Then they didn't :francis:

As I see it, the only effective means of boycott these days is a mass shift to a better product. No superior product, no mass exodus:manny:

Mustard Island
Well known and fukk Elon and the nazis other there
At this point the focus should be shaming any c00n that's still posting on X (or sharing content from X)
Talking about how bad X is....on X is self defeating
Delegitimatize the whole platform by making it become a racist echo chamber similar to st0rmfr0nt or something
