Just saw the predicted Netherlands line up… WTF? How did the quality of Dutch footballers fall off so bad? That team in the 2010 World Cup finals was god like. Now Depay is leading the line?

Small country. 10 years ago they had van persie, robben, sneijder crazy good attack but a garbage defense. When van dajk comes back they will have an elite defense but a garbage attack. Hard to get it right with 17 million people.

But Portugal have a smaller population and they’ve been consistently producing greats.

Hmmm, I’d say in order: 12, 10 then 08. They got better each tournament. But Holland definitely choked it away.

I’d say in 00s/early 10s, South Americans were running the show as strikers but the game has changed so much, the no 9 position is becoming extinct.

Lewondowski/Lukaku are the last of a dying breed. Now it’s more about being a “forward” as opposed to a target man.
