what cultural differences that arent contributed to socio economic differences are you speaking of?I don't think any black person has a problem with a standard of conduct,problem with many black elitist is that they base their standards on what whites deem acceptable,and our ashamed of our cultural differences that are harmless,UNLESS you view these differents in a judgemental,and ignorant fashion like cacs do....As a black man I feel like he should know better and have a better understanding of simple generational differences....He would understand why there are differences between "back in his day" and the current state of black people....And being that white people and the government played a big part in that,I can never appreciate the fact he can so easily place blame on blacks...while releasing whites and the government from responsibility,especially being that I don't know of him being vocal in previous eras against the white supremacy and injustice when he could have,and had a huge platform.
If distancing or this standard of conduct involves excusing police for brutality and execution of black people with impunity,like Cosby did....Then yes your right distance should be created,poor blacks should distance themselves from the c00ns immediately....What does it profit a man to gain the world if he loses his soul?Oh you can gain white acceptance?Sign me up...Its the fear of backlash I think Cosby has from other people that makes me question him.
