I've been to LA. I'm not under any delusions that Phoenix is matching it in size.

Love that the bud is legal in cali and I took advantage when In LA, but I got to say the thing that stuck with me during my visit there is how terrible the downtown scene is, particularly with the homeless. I'm not a snob or anything but god damn your homeless problem is crazy. I had to make a small run to a little grocery store near my hotel which was downtown at like 8 PM and had to walk to get there and not going to lie I was a bit concerned about my safety.

Lots of bars and places to eat. Saw a lakers game at the staples center while I was there and enjoyed all that. But, it was like an insane asylum out on the streets with mentally ill homeless people everywhere.

I'm here for work. Done some driving around, for work, and staying in Tucson right now.

But the lack of black folks is giving me a lot of pauses in actually seriously pursuing living out here. We're planning on seriously having a kid in the near future and I'm not raising a kid who can't socialize with black folks routinely outside of family. It's sounding like Phoenix is a better bet but I had some folks tell me like you said, its getting crazy crowded and it's like approaching being the 5th largest city if it already isn't.

Going to keep doing research and think it over. Appreciate the insights brehs.

My fam out there said most of the people in Tucson either work for or attend UA. Outside of that ain’t no nikkas down there just to be living there

its really no different than Flagstaff (a small glorified town to, which is helped by having Northern Arizona university) except that Tucson has a bit of a rival history with PHX. Plus the population is bigger other than that

Never been to Arizona but went to Utah once for a company retreat and was blown away by the scenic beauty.

The western states are by far the most beautiful part of the country. I love the South but the open plains and mountains in the distance you see out west are simply stunning to look at. Also the dry heat and lower humidity makes the climate more pleasant year round.

If not for the threat of Yellowstone blowing up I would live in one of those mountanious states out west.

LA, Vegas, San Diego/Tijuana are all under 6 hours away

I went to Phoenix last year for 3 days and it was 95 degrees. Didn't sweat one time

The heat isn't bad at all especially if you sit in the shade. You can legit put a fan up and sip cold brew and be good. The shyt is mind-blowing

if your renting def theres places here that go for just 800 i think. depending on your bills and car you should make it.
