Arguing with Americans who have never traveled outside the US is pointless

I agree to an extent. I've been blessed to travel to a few countries and I've seen REAL poverty in foreign countries. We do have it better here in the United States compared to other countries.

We still have a right to complain about the problems plaguing this country, though. We still have a lot of injustices and inequality in this country, in particular for black people.

Yes we should feel guilty for the standard of living our ancestors created while you all let white folks pillage your nation for resources and transfer the wealth back into their European nations while subjecting the natives to abject poverty til this day.

I apologize :mjcry:

There's a whole lot of right and wrong to what he's saying.

"More people would be less ignorant if they traveled"
"You don't know shyt about life if you've never left America"

This is, without a shadow of a doubt, 100% facts.

Gaining a different perspective from going to different countries and assimilating (to a certain degree) truly changes how you see everything. It's akin to believing in a certain religion and then getting to experience what it's like living without that religion. It's jarring going from being in a constant patriotic state where your lens is nothing but red, white and blue, and then being free from that, you soon start to realize that all that shyt you've been conditioned by is all a mirage.

It's like if all you know is tipping culture and then you experience what is is to exist without it, you quickly become aware just how much you've been hoodwinked by it.

"You think you have it rough, but in reality you're in a country with the most opportunities."

Now, this is some straight-up, unadulterated, bootlicking ass nonsense, that depreciates his entire argument.
Exactly. I’ve been to over 25 countries and it’s only shaped my worldview that the US operates in ways antithetical to the well being of its population.

No it's not
So someone who has traveled to Switzerland, Luxembourg and Monaco has more right to speak on real than a nikka from Chicago who hasn't?
:heh:
All I'm saying is that they have the perspective of someone in the USA, and the perspective of someone out of it. They can look at it from a different viewpoint.

I still haven't watched the video in the OP though.

Even traveling outside your neighborhood or city gives you a different perspective on life

we really only have it good when you compare us to 3rd world countries. you don’t compare apples to oranges .
we don’t even have a top 10 quality of life . Us being the absolute best is propaganda And nonsense . The don’t complain because others have it worse is always stupid .

we are the only developed nation without universal health care , we are like 37th in health care while paying the most for it .

My mother grew-up dirt door in an old wooden house with no air or heat. She got a full ride academic scholarship to college and got her dental school paid for too. Literally went from being dirt poor to the 1%. Those are the opportunities you dont get in other countries. America was a country where anybody could be somebody if they worked hard.

Over time and learning about history, you can tell who reads from who doesnt. Its hard EVERYWHERE. That whole "who has it worse, race to struggle" bullshyt is fukking dumb. The slums are the slums. Moving from some shanty town in haiti to some projects or neighborhoods in the us out here is NOT an upgrade at all.

Some black folks are so desperate to put themselves over others, that traveling has slowly become a new form of classism.

I know some people personally that had to take out a loan to pay for their trip(s), but are online acting like it's a regular Tuesday.

Traveling is great and if you can afford it, I think you definitely should. But I'll never understand looking down on someone because they haven't left the country. Weird

Weirdo shyt. Wasting time and money worshipping other countries "traveling" when all they did was stay in the tourist areas. Overpriced hotels, vercrowded dirty beaches and standing in line for several hours to take a picture in front of the same landmark as everyone else. They never visit the areas where the citizens live.

Posting pictures of their vacation for attention because that's the only reason they went in the first place, so they could upload every minute of it to social media.

You don't have to visit a third world country to know that we have a better quality of life than they do. We're not stupid. But the fact is here in America we have it better than 95% of the world.

And Africa is not a monolith. There are rich parts and poor parts. Visiting Gabon vs visiting Somalia are two very different experiences
