we know other countries suck. doesn't mean we have to have low standards.
They don’t suck.

That’s why you should travel.

Only 4% of humans live in the United States.

Do you really think only us live good?

My mother grew-up dirt door in an old wooden house with no air or heat. She got a full ride academic scholarship to college and got her dental school paid for too. Literally went from being dirt poor to the 1%. Those are the opportunities you dont get in other countries. America was a country where anybody could be somebody if they worked hard.
You’ve been sold a lie.

Any developed country she could do the same.

This is facts. I'll tell everyone that I know, you'd think that you have it good in America until you travel to some of these Asian and European countries.

That's when you realize that America, outside of offering you a high ass salary, is worst than some 3rd world countries in quite a few aspects.

To name a few: public transportation, healthcare, CoL, cost and/or quality of public education, murder rate, vehicle quality, and overall cohesiveness.

Edit: If Americans were somehow forced to spend a year in Japan after high school, they'd come back home and riot:pachaha:.

Fixed.

America is an exceptionally good place compared to even other oecd countries. Just the blue parts.
Cannot agree with you on this Supa.

Both parties are in lockstep with corporate interests, Repubs are just less ashamed of it.

As both parties are right now, i can't see subsidized Healthcare or higher education being policy points with eyes to completion.

I'd love to be wrong though.

This is where the both sides argument falls.

The only reason those things dont exist in America is because of Republicans who are actively fighting against it. Go to places without Republicans in America like New Jersey or New Mexico and you magically find things like free college education for all residents. Or New York , Maine, Maryland, Hawaii and Massachusetts which do free Junior college for residents.

Look at the expansion of things like Medicaid and Medicare. Would you like to guess which states refuse to expand them? Would you like to guess which stingy States won't even add dental Care to Medicare for the poorest residents?

And of course on the national level, none of this stuff can pass no matter how much it's suggested because of REPUBLICANS. Obama's magnum opus was supposed to be the ACA. Do you want a guess which party took a chainsaw and disfigured that policy beyond recognition? That was not a group project.

Democrats are neoliberal so even without Republican intransigence, America would still lack the social goods you see in Canada, Western Europe, Australasia, and Eastern Asia

You can travel all you want and still have a tourist mentality at the end.

And it's the tourists who refuse to learn that everyone despises.

Exactly.

How many countries had Trump been to before he ran for president? There are way too many examples of rich & closed-minded folk out there.

TYRONE GA!
There's a whole lot of right and wrong to what he's saying.

"More people would be less ignorant if they traveled"
"You don't know shyt about life if you've never left America"

This is, without a shadow of a doubt, 100% facts.

Gaining a different perspective from going to different countries and assimilating (to a certain degree) truly changes how you see everything. It's akin to believing in a certain religion and then getting to experience what it's like living without that religion. It's jarring going from being in a constant patriotic state where your lens is nothing but red, white and blue, and then being free from that, you soon start to realize that all that shyt you've been conditioned by is all a mirage.

It's like if all you know is tipping culture and then you experience what is is to exist without it, you quickly become aware just how much you've been hoodwinked by it.

"You think you have it rough, but in reality you're in a country with the most opportunities."

Now, this is some straight-up, unadulterated, bootlicking ass nonsense, that depreciates his entire argument.
Just came back from Uganda yesterday. It definitely puts your life in perspective when visiting other less fortunate non westernized countries
