Movie had nice visuals I'd give it about 7-8/10. I agree with what someone mentioned in here about the movie basically being about Christianity, the space jockey being dead for about 2000 years, so they decided to kill us around year 0. Rapace character always talking about here religious belief, grabbing her cross in the end and when asked why she still believed in God she says something about the Engineers created us but who created them? And honestly this is the type of movie where the writers will never explain plot holes and storyline, maybe because they don't have good explanation themselves

That the reason the Engineers decided to kill humans was because one of them came back to Earth around 2000 years ago and became who we all know as Jesus Christ. And because humans killed him we were deemed unfit to live

clearly in the movie, they found the 2000 yr old decapitated jockey head, not because he was going to earth, but cuz he was running from some shyt, unless jesus was in the caves running that nikka down, causing him to pass out and get his head chopped off by a closing door

side note, charlize theron shoulda learned how to do proper pushups

So far Prometheus is beating Madagascar 3 out at the Box Office... A Sequel will definitely get greenlit now... We won brehs...

It's far from lazy writing. It's definitely ambitious. The issue that most are having is that it raises more questions than it answers but I think that's exactly what the writers were going for.

I just watched an interview with one of the writers. The guy said that the original idea was to do a straight Alien prequel but they decided to flesh out the Alien universe more and move slightly away from the first movie. They wanted more than a niche audience.

I'm sure sequels are in mind but it depends on how it does at the box office (looks like it's doing well) and Ridley Scott who isn't getting any younger..

The fact that everyone is in here dumbfounded after seeing the movie and reaching for explanations is telling. They really just threw shyt against the wall and hope it stuck without really explaining shyt. That's not a “thought provoking" movie, it's a movie with lazy writing. Sans the visuals, this movie was below average.
