The engineer from the prologue was in fact a rogue operator whose fellow engineers are belatedly trying to undo his handiwork(Humans)
When he drank the black goo, he was creating humans through his DNA

breh! :wow::krs:

Some will hate it because it left a lot of unanswered questions. That's what sequels are for...
I know there had to be other rogues(Fallen Angels) not mentioned

I was way too geeked for this movie so I guess it had no shot of living up to my heightened expectations. Not to say that I hated it or anything but it just felt "off" to me like a lot of stuff was left on the editing room floor that would have made the movie flow better.

This nikka Satan stay winning :russ:

Good job breh you made me appreciate the movie a tad bit more.

So is the nikka in the beginning who killed himself good or bad? :wtf:

"Every king has his reign, then he dies.." They were an INTERGALATIC species whose time was coming to an end. The Space Jokey in the beginning seems to have sacrificed himself to seed a neoproterozoic Earth. The Titan that created humans from clay. :troll:

SPOILERS!!!!!!

Yeah that's what I saw. I saw him as Prometheus, the one who betrayed possibly a higher level of being. Notice the ship of the sacrificial engineer was shaped like an oval, very smooth, and peaceful looking. Contrast that with the devil's horns ship/horsehoe design of the ship headed for earth and also the derelict ship that ended up on LV-426 in Alien and Aliens.

Maybe the engineers wanted to destroy us because we were "unauthorized" and the sacrificial engineer was not supposed to create life on earth?

So many questions.

and thats my main question... if u wanna take a von daniken approach to the theory, then there were prolly a bunch of other 'rogue' space jockeys, but nothing in the movie really suggests it..
what was key to me were the holograms
there were two sets of holograms

1. the group that was running away from something that eventually killed them eg stack of corpses discovered by the two scientists and the head that had black goo in it

and

2. the group that was shown operating the command room with a flute that they used to view the simulation of different planets including earth

now what we know from this point is that there is only 1 surviving engineer from that group. when they awaken him, he is instantly belligerent and murderous, implying that he already understands what humans are and hates them.

an open question is why was this belligerent and murderous engineer alive but every other engineer was killed? 1. was he accidentally kept in stasis as every other engineer was killed - or 2. was he the killer who unleashed the black goo on the other engineers while he safely locked himself into a stasis chamber as they were being killed by it?

1. is the simplest answer and requires no elaborating of any kind to explain it

2. is the most complex as it suggests that there are differing groups (like republicans and democrats) among their species and that the living engineer was a saboteur dispatched to destroy whatever they were attempting to do there.

therefore

2a. the group that was being sabotaged were actually benevolent towards humans unlike the surviving engineer that was found. their mission was to go to many other planets that have an ability to sustain life like earth and seed it with some kind of catalyst dna and then repeatedly return back to them periodically to give them guidance when the were ready. i think that this is probably the only way to explain the cave paintings. the seeder engineers returned to earth at some point during pre history to possibly check on life so far on that planet. the saboteur was trying to stop them from doing this again.

2a is the only way i can explain those cave paintings

I found it odd that the mural they found had the original Alien/Xeno design right in the center. People kept calling the alien at the end a "proto alien" but if the mural in the spacecraft was correct then there were already aliens somewhere.

There was some bad writing in the movie when it came to some of the situations.

I will speak more on this....
