Someone told me going into this "If you don't go into this thinking it's gonna be an Alien movie, you'll be ok".
You see, there lies the problem.
It's like if we make a movie, about this scientifically advanced utopia, where it's a world of great intellect, ruled by those in high places, based on their education or whatnot. We think maybe this is a distant, distant future society of Earth. One that solved the social, economical, environmental and territorial issues that plague what we know life to be right now.
Then as we find out Warner Bros dropped $200 mill on this mysterious project, we start seeing hints of what it's going to be. We hear of how this world is dealing with an unstable ecosystem, ultimately finding out the worse problem facing this society is the integrity of their planet itself.
Heavy usage of white for set pieces, crystal-based technology, and bam. It doesn't take an idiot to know this is a movie about Krypton.
So if we hear this Kryptonian tale should be explored AND NOT TAKE INTO THIS MOVIE ANY EXPECTATIONS THAT TIES TO THE SUPERMAN UNIVERSE, then it passes as ok?

Now these cocksuckers marketing Prometheus are throwing it in our faces that it's tied to Alien in the recent tv spots. The intrigue of it POSSIBLY being an Alien movie was teased, hinted at, and all but held over our heads like dangling keys. Day before the U.S. release, they say "Yup, come see an Alien movie!".
It's ignorant to go into a movie, and do half the work for it. The majority of those movies are left for Cannes, Fall/Winter seasons, or DTVs.
Sometimes a movie is just disappointing, and it shapes the overall experience of the last 2 hours.
It's like meeting the most beautiful woman in the world, only for her to say "I'm not too bad if you can ignore the dikk I have".

Then there's the rest of the movie...
I'm not gonna spoil it but just know the movie would've been better had I gone into the theatre expecting it to be garbage then to be hyped about it possibly being a great film... because it's definitely disappointing...
I had a *LOT* of high hopes for this movie... & was letdown... I enjoyed the movie... but it could've been so much more then what it was...

working graveyard brehs, just noticed that the theater down the street from my store has imax 3d at 9am for only $12. Imma knock this movie out before i head home. im glad im seing negative reviews, my standards have dropped to reality about this film.

3d isn't worth it all.
Im sitting here tripping on this. Man yall nikkas were GASSED about this movie for a month. Slowly reports were coming out that the movie was mediocre and yall just swept them under the rug talking about they just didnt understand the genre or the film. Folks were calling it a masterpiece and saying the Avengers crowd just had bad taste.
Im gonna go see the 5 buck matinee tomorrow simply because i dont have shyt else to do, when i get to the window i might change my mind and see Snow White. Who knows.

just got back. fukk this movie.
My girl went and saw it with a bunch of female friends and said it wasn't scary whatsoever, and had a lot of religious and philosophical content.
dayam, by yall shyting on this movie my expectations went from a 9/10 to a 6/10. Saves me a lot of pist-tivity afterwards lol
yeah... some dude on here was calling it a masterpiece before anybody had even seen it talking about how it's gourmet when the avengers is fast food...
i was hoping the movie would be epic.... not even close...
